From no real experience with alcohol to bourbon? Have you been holding out on me?

[Teasing. She will, in fact, get you a bourbon on the rocks. Or the closest space equivalent, anyway.]

[You're darn right she will. She snickers a little.]

I guess I'll have the bourbon. You know, we've got other non-alcoholic drinks if you want to try them.

I really do just want water. It's probably not a great idea to drink when you're running low on energy, right?

No, but that doesn't stop a lot of people.

[Water it is, though.] So why are you so low? Playing games down in town?

Yeah, I've known some.

I was exercising, actually. Did you know there's a whole parkour gym down the hall?

I knew there was a gym, yeah. [She wrinkles her nose.] I haven't been to it. What's parkour?

Parkour is like... improv acrobatics. Like, instead of just walking somewhere, people will run, jump, and climb around obstacles and use the most complicated route possible. It's pretty cool to watch.

They do that for fun?

[...oh lord.] You know, that sounds like my captain. We met a shipwright who travelled across town like that, and he thought it was amazing.

It is kind of amazing. People do it for fun, and also for training. It's really good for getting you to think on the go, and you have to be athletic enough to do it safely.

...heh. Well, I don't think I'd do it for fun, but I was a thief for a long time. Does vaulting across rooftops in hurricane weather count?

It totally counts. [And also sounds awesome.] Hell, that's a practical use of the kind of parkour training I'm talking about.

It loses some of its 'fun' value when you're on the run from a horde of zombies, I think. [But she sounds amused anyway.]

...Where the heck did you meet zombies?

You meet some fun people out on the ocean.

Pirates versus zombies... that really sounds like a video game.

Well, it was like a dungeon in a lot of places, and there was definitely treasure.

[That's what all video games are like, right?]

That sounds right up my alley, actually.

You'd probably make for a decent pirate, then. Do you get seasick?

Not as far as I know, but I grew up kind of far inland, so I don't have that much experience with boats.

Mmmm. Ten bucks says you get seasick the first time you go sailing.

[Surely all those days spent on the rivers in SAO have prepared him for this...!]

So it's agreed. The first chance we get on a planet with an ocean, I'll take you sailing.
