[He shrugs, not entirely bothered by that.] But also partially because I prefer calligraphy.

( And is pretty interesting. Plus calligraphy is cool )
What about drawing inanimate objects?

( Or not, but she bets it would be great. Just a feeling )
How did you start on calligraphy>

[He brightens at the subject change - Stefan might be a little too fascinated by this art form.]
My mom was really good at it. When I was little, I'd copy her Arabic and it kinda spiraled from there. Now, it's out of habit, since I haven't needed to write in English for a while.

( She's never seen anyone do it before, even if she's seen pictures in texts before. Seeing someone do it - seeing something more meaningful is always nicer )

[He reaches for a pen, an inkwell, and a spare piece of paper before starting to sketch out a verse from the Qur'an. Stefan's hands are shaking more than usual - he's rusty, and he hasn't done this in a long time - but the meaning and the intent is clear.]
What I'm writing says "And He - God, I mean - is with you, wherever He may be."

( And it looks nice too - the lettering of the language, the way he's written it )
How long did it take you to learn?

[He taps the paper thoughtfully.]
Would you like to learn how? I've been thinking about framing one of these in the Center.

( Especially in a place like this )

[Wait, she said yes. Stefan blinks back surprise.]
Um, I mean, that's awesome. We'll have to set times, and our translators do the speech thing like magic, but I'll start you on the alphabet and we'll work our way up.

( Just to prove the point that she did agree. It'll be fun, Stefan. She's a nerd really )
How shall we do it? Like where, and when.

[At least he's honest about being religious.] What would work best for you?
