[Erik's attention is split between hearing the words - and really, who writes like this? - and watching the shadow materialise before him again. This time, the outline takes a more solid shape, slowly.]

And you said there's another book after this.

[ He fleshes out the details, like painting a picture. ]

Yes? I believe so. I got two.

[Little by little, the shadow gains more shape.]

Clearly someone out there reads them, if there's call enough for sequels.

We all have our guilty pleasures. Surely you have a few.

I'm not going to trot them out when you already know them.

I wouldn't say I know all of them.

Name the ones you do.

[ Charles makes a hmm noise as he sets his book down. ]

Talk about mutant genetics and their superior evolutionary abilities.

Does that really count, when I don't feel guilty about it?

[ He frowns, sulky. ]

Make this hard for me, why don't you. Let's see . . . [ His fingers reach to play with Erik's sleeve. ] . . . men in aprons?

[Erik looks down towards his wrist, watching the shadow move. The contact seems to solidify it further, ground it in reality.]

I wouldn't mind seeing you in one, but you hate cooking. So it's an unfulfilled fantasy.

[ He grins, pleased that he could uncover one. ]

I could make it happen.

[Erik smiles at him, at the shadow. It's getting close now.]

I'll remember that.

What else . . . how about telepathic dirty talk?

Hm... [He thinks back, to the library, the last time they truly brought telepathy into the bedroom. It's hard to separate things into discrete ideas like dirty talk, given how deeply they enmeshed their minds. Even so, there was a sense of it.] Yes. I'll give you a point.

[ Charles' surprise was genuine and for a minute he doesn't reply, until he tentatively asks. ]

Really?

Really. You're so buttoned-down normally. I like it when you're less polished.

[A pause.] And I do remember you flooding me with certain images when you were trying to help me use my powers back then. [It had been in the aftermath of Systems' work, a part of Charles's efforts to rehabilitate Erik's connection to his ability. He definitely remembers the moment Charles resorted to lurid imagery to calm him down.]

[ He shivers, pleased. He presses his hands against Erik's chest ]

That was . . . quite some time ago. We should -- I could try it again. Play around with it.

[If only this were a more secret garden. Erik takes hold of Charles's hands, smiling more warmly as his vision clears. The hallucinations don't last as long anymore.]

Yes. Let's.

[ He grins before leaning over to kiss Erik softly. ]

[He kisses Charles back, threading his fingers into his hair.]
