4th Blight - video
Who: Riona and YOU! (and no she's not drunk this time)
Broadcast: Yes
Action: On Blue Fish
When: Today!
Note: Somewhat NSFW link in the post. Nothing graphic or trigger-y!
[The cargo bay of the Blue Fish finds itself a bit less empty than usual. The video opens up on gift baskets covering sections of the floor in the bay. Each one has a little tag attached to it, indicating the intended recipient(s) of the basket. The wrapping on top of each basket are a solid color, hiding what’s inside.
The camera jostles as its owner kneels down next to one.]
Not quite what I expected to come down to this morning.
[Riona remains off-screen, save for her hand, which opens up the tag. Her name is written on it, with a little note reading: “To help you unwind.”]
So. Atroma – I’m assuming – has left some of us with gifts. Given the sheer number in here, and that I don’t recognize the names on some of the baskets down here, it appears these are also for people on other ships. I’m on the Blue Fish, if anyone wants to stop by and see if they received one of these baskets.
[ She sets the camera down, propping it up. The new view provides the chance to see Riona tearing into the paper covering her basket.]
I don’t know what is inside, to be honest. I’m not exactly sure what they mean by helping me “unwind”. Let’s find out, shall we?
[ As she reaches in and begins to pull out something, suddenly there’s a vibration ringing out from inside. The young Warden frowns, the book she had grabbed onto halfway out of the basket.]
Not sure if I want to know what that sound is. Let’s see what this book-
[If one has a watchful eye, they may catch a quick glimpse of the book cover***. At least until Riona gets a good look at it, blushes and sputters, and immediately slams it to the ground.]
Maker’s ball, why would they-
[There’s a curse as she remembers the camera is on and her hand quickly covers the lens before the communicator is shut off.]
((OOC: sponsor drop is open to all! Yhe theme is sex toys, books, etc. the gift baskets can be for individuals or for couples. The Blue Fish no longer has the locks on, so characters can wander freely inside again.
***EDIT: damn it, DW. book cover is this: https://i.imgur.com/Ie3Ocnp.jpg))

My good sir, we don't have enough wine for me to tell you that entire story. But the short of it is that my country faced an invasion of creatures and a civil war at the same time. Said civil war was sparked during a battle against the creatures that ended with an esteemed general leaving his king for dead and then declaring himself regent in the aftermath. My companion and I were the last of the order dedicated to fighting said creatures, so the two of us set out to gather an army to combat them. Joining my companion and I were a lay sister who was a former bard, a witch of the wilds, a Qunari soldier, an assassin who was sent to kill me, a stone golem, a drunken dwarven warrior, an old mage, and my warhound.

...This sounds like some sort of fantastic tale of heroism and in fact, should be written down somewhere. So, did you manage to save the day?

[But the idea rather intrigues her. Perhaps she'll look into getting several empty journals... and a lot of ink.]
We did. By the skin of our teeth, but we did.

[He quirks a wry little smile, before his eyes brightened.]
The best kind of victory.

[Sure, the main events of the Fifth Blight would be remembered, but what of the little details? The way Oghren carried his pain from Branka's death, or Leliana's determination to not become Marjolaine? Sten's love of cookies and the way Morrigan's eyes lit up when she talked about her shapeshifting. She did not want those forgotten, either.]
Honestly, I'd have preferred a wider margin to have won by, but I suppose it does make it a more interesting story to tell. [She snorts.] If anyone would be interested in hearing the whole thing.
