[Video starts with... that sure is Loki. But there's something subtly weird about his expression. There's nothing guarded or calculated about it, a slight relaxation of ever-present tension that was never apparent before, perhaps. The best poker face in all Nine Realms is nowhere to be seen. If anything, he looks upset. Confused, worried, a bit scared. And he's out in the forest on the toxic moon, which is just great, let him tell you. No mask, but he's never needed one before, not that he's aware of that, or of the fact that most people have to wear them.]

Hello? Yes, this seems to be working. What a curious device. [Anyway. The point.]

I seem to be lost. Very lost. Where is this?

[A view of the forest, brief but steady.]

And--[Careful breath.]--who am I?

[Lucky Loki, his augment has glitched and while he remembers how to do things--and the occasional esoteric fact--he has no idea who he is. Good news--or bad news depending on your opinion of his usual space asshole personality--he'll get over it in about a week.

Even if no one comes find him, he'll make his way back to civilization eventually and be very confused about life and where he's even supposed to be. Good thing he's practically indestructible. But eventually, he will be around on the Paisley, and on the Iskaulit, poking about.]

Oh my. Is he some sort of giant? [Giants are a thing, right? He has some recollection that they do exist, even if he's not sure why he would know such a thing.]

Hm. That's not very helpful. How does he stop you?

[ He rubs the back of his neck, recalling the incident with his -- with Leia before she left ]

Someone did a whole study on it. From their report, it seems that you blackout and/or lash out at anyone near you if you try to remove it. It's not a good idea and I wouldn't try that to fix your memory problems.

[Good to know, really.]

I certainly do not want to hurt anyone. [He's pretty sure he doesn't. They've all been very friendly, he thinks. Not that there's been a lot of chances for comparison.] So I suppose I must... wait.

[ He doesn't do well with waiting. Even if he and Loki had sparse exchange, it's instinct that he tries to help. ]

Tell me what you do remember, maybe it'll jog some memory.

Nothing, really. Well, I recall how to walk, obviously. Things of that nature. I seem to recall other skills such as mathematics. And I've some sort of power I might use.

But nothing... personal.

[ He folds his arms and thinks. ]

... You remember your name. Do you know what Loki means?

I've been told my name. And told that it comes from the word to break. [Shrug.]

[ A cringe. ] That's a..... name.

I don't know who you would have been close with or I could lead you to them. Frankly, I don't know much about you.

You can do a type of ...telekinesis. [ And called him some names while doing it. He takes a cup. ] Here, try to take it from my hand.

He said that to break things need not be bad, always. Some things must be broken so new things can happen. [Hey, he's trying to be positive, he found it rather alarming, himself.]

Do you suppose that means I have no friends? That seems... sad. [He's really liked talking to everyone he has so far.]

[He frowns at the cup. He remembers simple things like how to walk, of course. And he can feel things, various energies, though he isn't certain if that's unusual as such--though from what his maroon friend said, it might be. But he recalls how he was able to manipulate the world a bit when getting out of the woods, and this can't be so different. He leans into the energies, and tries to draw the cup to him. He is stronger than a cup, right?

The cup wobbles, twitches as he tries various ideas on how to grasp it. Then it springs to his hand, fast enough that he almost drops it rather than catches it.

He grins.] Like so?

[ He can feel it wobble in his hand and for a moment, he wasn't sure if this was going to be a mistake. But he wouldn't have lasted so long if he didn't have that conviction in him. Anakin grins in return, he rests his hands on his hips and nods. ]

There you go! Just like that. Not bad for someone who barely remembers his own name, huh.

[ Reaching out with a hand, he pulls the cup back into his hand. ]

Want to try again? Maybe it'll jog a memory of how you learned to do this. You must have practiced for hours before.

[Yay, his new friend Anakin is happy about something, so that seems good.] Energies are far easier to grasp than memories, perhaps. They are right there, all around.

[Okay, this could be a fun game.]

All right. I suppose I must have if one is not born knowing these things. [He can feel it, which makes it easier. More sophisticated magic isn't something he knows how to do, but this? It's grasping at something he can see. And it feels good to be able to do something. He pulls at cup again, steadier this time.]

[ He watches the cup intently for a moment and focus his own to take it back. His hand drops and he only uses what Loki said, thinking of the act as energies rather than any physical manipulation. ]

You might not be born knowing it but you must've learned it when you were a youngling. [ It's the only explanation for it to be as ingrained as speech and mathematics ]

[He lets the cup go back without fighting, fascinated. He's more intent on trying to understand what Anakin is doing, though he's fumbling a bit in his observation.]

You are very good at that as well! [We'll go ahead and assume this is a fairly common thing, right? Who knows!]

It was important training. I had years of practice when I was young. [ He chuckled. ] After solids, we move on to moving liquids then gases... It's fun. Well, it's fun if you're good at it.

Oh, I shall have to see if I can understand those as well. Can you show me?

There's usually an instrument to help Initiates with this... [ he scratch his head and looks around them for something they can work with. grabbing the cup again, he fills it with water. ]

What we do is separate the water from the cup. It's using two different kinds of Force techniques. The cup we already know. But to hold the water, I would have to put it in a Force barrier.

[ he quiets as he focuses. the cup floats then drops slowly back into his hand, leaving the water a few inches above it ]

[He watches this with absolute, consuming fascination. And he can certainly feel there is something going on, though it isn't quite the same as what he's already done, which makes it even more interesting.]

So you are containing the water, yourself. [He cups one hand, thinking about it.] I think I feel the energies of it...

I'm manipulating the energy around it and creating a barrier to hold it.

[ still holding the cup, he moves the water over the sink and drops it. his level of manipulation isn't as strong as what he's seen loki do and there's no way loki won't be able to catch up soon.

he fills the cup with water again and hands it to him ]

Your turn.

[He nods, mulling the concept over. Face already a mask of concentration, he takes the cup. Then he traces the outside of it.]

If I could make a field to follow the shape of the cup's inside...

[Splash. Nope. He wrinkles his nose, fills the cup back up and tries again. After a struggle, trying to feel what he needs to do and reference to what Anakin did already, he raises the liquid from within the cup.]

Aha! Yes?

[ he looks on with anticipation, spurred by the fact that he knows loki can do this. he's probably done this before, actually.

the surprise with this is the concentration of energies and where he feels it. it's different, from what the jedi were taught as kids. either way, he shouts victory when loki does do it. ]

You got it! I don't think you're ... necessary Force sensitive but that's something. How do you feel?

[It certainly feels like a victory, and it's nice to have a friend to share a little triumph with.

Not Force Sensitive, so that means yet another set of people who cannot tell him anything useful about what he is, though he won't complain, since he's already learned a lot. And Anakin is very nice, really. Loki touches the ball of water in the air with one finger to set it spinning, and then grins.]

Like I could do anything, really.

[ he stared at the floating ball of water for a moment, certain in the fact that though he's strong in the force, even he couldn't do that. chuckling dryly: ]

Looks like you got the hang of your powers. I thought it'd sort out the short term memory lost though.

[ he shrugs ]

Sorry, I don't think I can't help you there.

It seems to be no one's fault but our captor's, yes? Perhaps with this sort of power, I might be of some use at least.

Do you .. know where we are? [ he knocks against the wall, metal of the ship sounds against metal of his hand ] We're in space. Unless you can create an artificial environment to carry us away from our captors, there's not a lot you can do aside from the more mundane tasks.

[ which is a downer so he asks: ]

What do you think you could help with?

I'll have to think about that problem. [Well, it's a place to start.] But mundane tasks still need to be done, yes?

[That's a harder question.]

I can move things in different ways. I can make things become very cold as well. I don't suppose any of that is terribly useful.
