[Video starts with... that sure is Loki. But there's something subtly weird about his expression. There's nothing guarded or calculated about it, a slight relaxation of ever-present tension that was never apparent before, perhaps. The best poker face in all Nine Realms is nowhere to be seen. If anything, he looks upset. Confused, worried, a bit scared. And he's out in the forest on the toxic moon, which is just great, let him tell you. No mask, but he's never needed one before, not that he's aware of that, or of the fact that most people have to wear them.]

Hello? Yes, this seems to be working. What a curious device. [Anyway. The point.]

I seem to be lost. Very lost. Where is this?

[A view of the forest, brief but steady.]

And--[Careful breath.]--who am I?

[Lucky Loki, his augment has glitched and while he remembers how to do things--and the occasional esoteric fact--he has no idea who he is. Good news--or bad news depending on your opinion of his usual space asshole personality--he'll get over it in about a week.

Even if no one comes find him, he'll make his way back to civilization eventually and be very confused about life and where he's even supposed to be. Good thing he's practically indestructible. But eventually, he will be around on the Paisley, and on the Iskaulit, poking about.]

Can't everyone do that? [Vision seems find, and he hasn't seen anyone else. But all right, that's an interesting thought. He focuses on a distant point, considering how to get there faster, and he can feel the energies around. It's more instinct than anything that makes him mentally grasp and twist, teleporting between the two points, just a short distance.]

Hm. That isn't flying.

It's impressive nonetheless. [He calls it out and then floats over quickly.] I cannot teleport, as you just have. All persons are different in their own way.

There are all sorts of other energies that I might see, but that seemed the most to do with distant points. Hm.

It's quite possible you could do the same over a long distance, though I'd imagine it would be safer if you could see where you are going first. This should make it a bit faster, however. We're not far from town.

I don't know how I would do that without knowing where I was going. I'll have to think about it.

[Another little teleportation blip. He laughs happy. This is fun, being able to take one step and cross such distance. Though when his new friend catches up, he reaches a bit further back in the conversation and asks:]

I've no doubt you could find a way.

[The Vision will be the first to admit he isn't familiar at all with Loki, but that laugh - there's something so innocent about that laugh he can't help but believe the amnesia is real.

That and his lack of hostility, really.]

It is the nature of things. We are each different so we may complement each others' strengths.

Do you think so? [Maybe. He'd need to think about it for a bit and understand the mechanism he's using for short distances first. But it's... an interesting problem. He's already discovered that he likes interesting problems.]

Whose strengths do I compliment?

I do. The principle is the same as for a shorter jump. [Well, as long as he knows what the destination looks like, Kurt can do it easily. No reason Loki couldn't, even if his technique is wildly different.]

You're clever, very good at solving complex problems, and skilled in magic. Your complement would be someone physically strong and steadfast who can distract an opponent while you work your skills.

[Mutter:] Finding a point in space...

Am I? You seem to know quite a bit about me from such a short meeting. [Not suspicious exactly, but he feels like he's missing out on something and it itches.]

That's in important first step, yes. You shouldn't want to teleport into vacuum, for example.

He is at your home, Asgard, which is another realm. You are traveling with myself and others in the Drift Fleet.

Why? [That seems the best and most important question to ask. It contained multitudes.]

I'm afraid I don't know the entirety of the story. You were chosen to be part of the Fleet, as was I, but the reasoning behind it remains a mystery.

So we are here, and we know not why.

It's not, but there have been other odd occurrences lately. People have reverted to younger versions of themselves, for example.

Ah. That would not be the case with me, though, as I would still then remember something, such as my childhood.

[Considering how cute little Loki from Calibrations had been, it's almost a shame.]

You do seem to have some knowledge, however. Speech, for example.

Indeed. I know how to walk and other such things. I suppose that is also rather curious... I haven't forgotten everything, only that which would tell me who I am.

I wonder what the purpose could be, in that case--if there is one. They call these irregularities malfunctions of our augments, but the truth of that has yet to be proven.

You think it more sinister than a... malfunction? [Well, that's creepy. It's not a nice thought.] Have I done something to upset those who control such things, perhaps?

Not that I'm aware of. [He probably shouldn't have even said that, should he?] Though I suppose the cause isn't important as much as dealing with the effects, hm?

I think the cause should be very important, because wouldn't that control the effects? And if it is not some sort of personal attack upon me, might it then affect others and thus be more of a problem?

[That's a very good answer and he nods approvingly.]

Yes, the tree before which I stood. It had very interesting bark, as I'd seen nothing like it before.
