Apocalypse rose to power in my world. Person, not the biblical concept. Not that they don't have a lot in common. [of course there is a difference that happened earlier than that one.]

He believes in survival of the fittest and that humans aren't fit. Genocide. Forced-labor camps. Human experimentation. Hitler's greatest hits turned up to eleven. There were also nuclear attacks. Latin America is mostly gone now. South America and Africa are largely irradiated.
