[Wrath's very excited about having so many of her friends around. While she likes showing off the Windrose, she decided the Iskaulit would be a better place. There are plenty of spare rooms not far from the mural where she can set up temporarily, and this way she's not taking up her ship's dining area and making things difficult for her crewmates.

She's got snacks lined up--including more dried bacon kelp--and an array of good drinks. Officer Snuggles, released from his tactical fox vest, is hanging around in the hopes that some sucker kind stranger will feed him under the table.

A deck of cards is waiting, and she managed to find a box of game tokens that should work well during one last trip to the moon. Everything's ready.]

[Erik arrives with Charles, and settles into one of the chairs provided. He has one of the bacon kelp pieces held dubiously in his fingers. He's tried one before, courtesy of Kitty, but it's still... bacon kelp. Neither of which were things he ate normally, much less a combination of both.]

[Beverly takes Erik's dubious expression to mean that this is his first encounter with the bacon kelp, so she nods at the piece he's holding.]

They're not too bad, really.

[grandstanding]

[When Beverly addresses him, he turns to appraise her. As the only one in the group he hasn't yet met, he's already worked out that she must be the same Dr Crusher that Vision had mentioned to him. The one who wanted the surgical components. He sets the kelp back down on the plate.]

Yes, I've had some. It's still an odd concept.

Better than the protein cubes at least. But I have been growing a bigger variety of vegetables and fruits in the garden on the Iskaulit, if you're ever interested.

[grandstanding]

Is the garden yours, then? [He's made use of it, for the green space, but not for what was planted there. It didn't seem his place.]

Ino and I started it, yes, though many others have helped immensely with the building and the maintenance.

[grandstanding]

I imagine it takes a lot of work, in an environment like this.

[dancingmd]

I suppose so, but it is work I enjoy. I always need to be working on something or I'll go crazy.

[grandstanding]

Is there not much call for being a doctor, then.

[He's sure he would have heard about it if there was, but it doesn't hurt to check. Better to get the measure of what the doctors around here think as well.]

[dancingmd]

I wouldn’t say there isn’t any call for us - no matter where you are, you’re going to need healers - but I’m certainly less busy here with my duties than I am at home.

[grandstanding]

[Taking up a glass of water, he finally nods.]

This place doesn't seem overly dangerous.

Or we've been lucky.

[grandstanding]

Oh, there's that. But there's no pattern of violence here, which is what I meant. I wouldn't call this situation lucky at all.

[dancingmd]

[She shakes her head.]

No, not much violence on our end, for the most part. We have been attacked by an external fleet several times now - and I suppose that is what I meant by lucky, as we experienced no serious casualties from those attacks.

[grandstanding]

I did hear about that - was their purpose for attacking ever discovered?

[She shakes her head.]

We don't know. They've never responded to our hails. People have their suspicions but nothing we can prove.

[grandstanding]

So, the same old story. [This place is so frustrating.]

[You're telling her. She gives him a tight smile.]
