So here's how it goes: you tell me anywhere you'd rather be but here, with the caveat that it can't just be a home. I think it's safe to say that home is a very understandable answer, but it's also a little too achingly realistic for my purposes. So pick somewhere else. Pick Ibiza. Pick Iceland, if you want.

Well, unless Iceland is your home. Then please refer to rule numero uno. It also happens to be the game's only rule. [ short and sweet, that's our katerade.

Unfortunately, Hawaii doesn't check my self-imposed rule box for this game. [ ... ] Not the 'home' rule, but a second rule I gave myself.

Oh, just that the last people I fought at home called herself Banshee, aka Siobhan Smythe. Turns out she has some kind of crazy screamy power.

Huh. I'm pretty sure there was an X-Man named Banshee. I wonder what happened to him.

Anyway, this Banshee is nothing like that. She's obnoxious.

Man, this story is a lot more complicated.

Okay, so, as you know, being a superhero? Kind of hard on your work attendance. I try my best but I can only be so many places at once, you know?

So Ms. Grant hired Siobhan, mostly to teach me a lesson by pretending she was replacing me. But it wasn't really cute. Siobhan is one of those classic mean girls, so she was really competitive from the get-go, but she also didn't really listen to advice while she was trying to impress Ms. Grant. There's an art to it, and she screwed up here and there.

Anyway, her joining the office kind of coincided with a... complicated few days, where I was affected by something that kind of made me the evil version of myself? It was terrible. Every bad impulse I've ever had was right there and there was nothing I could do to stop it. So while I was out trashing my public reputation, Ms. Grant chose not to run any stories about how terrible I was being, besides looking out for public safety. Siobhan went behind her back to poach the story to CatCo's main publishing rival, the Daily Planet.

I noticed all of that and I kind of. Acted vindictively? And exposed her poaching to Ms. Grant. So Ms. Grant fired her and Siobhan blamed me. Maybe not entirely unreasonably, but she shouldn't have done that. So, whatever. She's bitter because she thinks I got her fired, and she finds out she can break her fall with her scream after tripping off the roof of a building.

So she came back to the office for revenge and bam, right out the window. Luckily, a speedster happened to be at the right place at the right time.

You, uh, went evil? [ because that's what's most important to take from this. ]

[ yeah, well, that makes her uncomfortable ]

Complicated few days, like I said.

And evil might be overstating it.

Extreme PMS?

No, no -- there's no need to sugar it. [ kate nods. ] It happens to all the big names, eventually.

Well, it's mortifying. And I don't want to scare anyone, because I don't think it'll happen here.

[ she hopes ]

I guess that's up to the Atroma, really. [ -- this smacks of dramatic irony. ]

So let's work on not giving them any ideas. It's not a pretty situation.

No, a science project gone bad. Again, a complicated topic, and it kind of involves going into my weaknesses and how to take me down and that's not really fun cocktail material.

If something were to happen, though, Winn would probably know what needs to be done.

Well, I'm not at full power right now so it probably wouldn't have as much impact. But mostly I mean containing me until it wears off.
