Who: Maedhros & YOU
Broadcast: Fleet-Wide.
Action: Open to HS Marsiva.
When: Morning.
(Marsiva's hospitality cannot erase what Maedhros has endured. He is dressed cleanly and his hair is braided neatly and away from his face. Even his burns have been healed with minimal scarring. But there is something untamed in his eyes.
Something that burns like a hungry, desperate fire.)
...why? (His low voice resonates clearly, cutting through the air with ease. He needn't ever shout.) Surely these quarters are not located within the Halls of Mandos?
(He feels life flowing within him and it is wrong. Lifting his only fist, he hits the nearest wall, clenching his teeth.)
Do not trap my fëa. Arda is safer with me dead.

[She's doing this on purpose; flooding him with good will and positivity. Because he's wearing unhappiness like a shirt. A wet shirt, that clings to him, weighs him down.]

[Just give her a moment. She'll remember.]
Maitimo. That's it! He spoke with great affection about you. He called you bold, with a leader's quality. And said also you are his rock, and that when he was little you would sing him lullabies.

He must not know. Perhaps that is best - kindest. (But how will he hide his guilt?) We hail from a big family. He and I are all that is left.
no subject
[He spoke of being left dead, so it is not hard to guess at what he meant.]
I simple must say so, because he has indeed spoken highly of you, and has clearly missed you.
[She chuckles softly.]
Even if you hadn't told me, I think I might have guessed at a relation between you two. You both highly underestimate your worth.

Then he is kinder than he need ever be. (His nose wrinkles and he looks at her, confused.) My worth is nonexistent, lady. I am a murderer and a coward. What could be worse?
no subject
Oh and all of it is really your father's fault. :c
And really, that is all she needs to know. He is loved by Maglor, and so he must be Good.]
You judge yourself too harshly, sir. You both do.

He deserves a second chance. I will see he has it even if I must do so from the shadows.
no subject
[Whether you want to or not. As if she wouldn't out him to Maglor in an instant. Foolishness and pride, that's ask this is.]

[Yeah, she's not going anywhere.]
My name is Syeira.

Well met, Lady Syeira. I am called Maitimo, Nelyafinwë, Maedhros or Russandol. Some even refer to me simply as "the tall".
no subject
You all have so many names, and I've only the one. It makes me think we're doing it wrong on Toril.
But it's just Syeira. Formality is not required between friends.
But that reminds me, I forgot to ask your brother, and since you're here you can tell me honestly. Exactly how tall does one need to be to be called "the tall"?
no subject
We are given two at birth and the rest we acquire over time. (And considering how long they live, a handful of names isn't that much.)
As you wish, but I would caution you on choosing your friends wisely.
(And not from a couple of half-mad Fëanorians.)
I have not measured myself in some time. I know I am over seven feet.
no subject
[You two don't even rank in the top of worst friend choices she's ever made.]
Seven feet? My you're all so gigantic. It's really not fair. Piles of names, and you get to reach the top shelf.
[It's so unfair! Elves from Toril are tiny! :c]

I am...uncommonly tall. Even for an Elf. (Maedhros isn't a bulky Elf either - as if Tolkien Elves ever could be. He has very long legs, but he is well-proportioned, which is how he earned the name Maitimo. It means "well-shaped one".)
no subject
Still, Finrod and Maglor are both very tall compared to the elves of Toril. Pure elves only grow as tall as five and a half feet, if they're truly blessed with height!

[She pulls back her hair with both hands, turns her head to the side so he can see her pointed ear.]
We've many kinds as well, but all are invariably short.
