Would anybody be interested in joining an Augment Support network? Like, for people who need help getting the hang of their augment and want to ask a veteran, or for someone who learns something new and wants to share it with their peers.

I'm fine with doing the all the administrative work if anybody is interested being a mentor, or would like to be available for a help line. Or if someone would like help connecting with someone who has more expertise.

I think we all have a lot to offer each other.

Mmm, maybe something a little more all around for you. Along the jaw. It'll make it look stronger-cut for the hair. Not too long, though. Then I find it gets in the way, catches food. Just messy all around.

[Oh yes he can see you, Sorey. He also now can't stop laughing for a good several minutes.]

[He takes a long breath, trying to put on a straight face again.]

Maybe you should experiment a little like that, see what style works for you.

The eyebrows summon a new round of laughter, Hawke even smacking his hand once on the console for emphasis.]

You could just go around like that. No one would be the wiser. 'Who's that rugged beefcake with the manly eyebrows and distinguished beard?' they'd say!

Ah, you've never seen Sorey the Masculine? Legend tells of a beard so grand and full that within it he hides the secrets of man and seraphim alike.

You could nest birds in a beard like that. Train them to send messages.

[Okay this is getting even more ridiculous, but Sorey's mention of seraphim raises an eyebrow.]

Oh, are you from the same world as Dezel?

Eh? [strokes chin. smears beard ridiculously] Yes, I am. We're good friends. You know him? [dezel sure gets around for a dude who complains loudly about disliking people]

I've run into him. Well, his... voice. Can you actually see him?

Yup, I can. But you'll probably be able to see him if you spend enough time around him! If you can hear his voice in person, anyway. It just takes time to develop the sense if you already have a knack for it.

Oh, good. It's a bit awkward trying to talk to a disembodied voice. I'm sort of curious what he looks like too, if he's anything like the spirits I'm used to.

Well...he's tall, wears a lot of black and this tophat thing with some medallions on it. [it's very steampunk soft grunge with a hint of retired farmer] Green hair, really sharp teeth. His facial features are surprisingly soft! But usually his hair's in the way. [SO grunge] And he has boots like a pirate.

[That's ridiculous, unless it's just a spirit thing? Maybe? Could they make bodies with weird hair colors if they wanted? He'll have to ask Cole sometime.]

Yeah that sounds nothing like spirits from my world. Mostly they're translucent and incorporeal, though I do know one who made himself a body. Only no one's quite sure how.

He hasn't told anybody? [Well, maybe it's a like a secret method or something.] All of the spirits and seraphim have corporeal bodies where I'm from. They can become incorporeal in certain situations, but they're just as physical as humans.

No, I just don't even think the spirit in question knows how he did it. As far as anyone knows, he's the first one in my world.

[Adalwolfe shrugs.]

I think it's a bit more comfortable to have them corporeal though. Drifting through walls and things is too eerie for me.

Don't like ghosts, huh? Is that why Dezel weirds you out? [Sorey's never had a time he couldn't see what he was talking to, so he doesn't get that. Though it's probably creepy...probably.]

He doesn't 'weird me out' so much as it's jarring not to be able to see the person you're talking to. Ghosts on the other hand, those are unnatural.

Well, he's definitely got a physical body. Maybe you could carry around flour with you, and throw it on him when you want to know where his face is! [dezel will k i l l him]

[Oh my god Sorey you asshole! Adalwolfe laughs aloud at the very idea.]

I'm pretty certain he wouldn't appreciate that. You said if I stick around him long enough I'll get the knack though, right? I'll just make sure to spend time with him so I can develop the sense.

I suppose that's a less messy way to do it. If you'd ever like to know what he looks like, just give me a call; I can come over and you can at least have that mystery solved.

That would be funny, but no. You'd probably see him if I was around; I wouldn't even have to hold your hand. [what a shame, missing out on that]

Oh, you have an aura or something that grants the ability? Magic from your world seems pretty interesting.

No, it really is though! I keep learning more about it and it's so neat. Seraphim are amazing.

And you have spirits in your world, right? How does it work with them, can people still communicate with them even if they don't have physical bodies?

We do, sort of. They're from a separate but connected realm called the Fade but sometimes they slip through the Veil. There are special mages, mediums and spirit healers, that can work with spirits but in general it's considered too dangerous. Spirits and demons are always trying to get at mortals and the other side of the Veil. They come to us in our dreams. Everyone except Dwarves got to the Fade when they dream, but only mages dream lucidly. Demons talk to us there, try to tempt us into letting them into our minds where they can take over.

Spirits aren't as much like that, but still dangerous. Demons are what happens when spirits become corrupted, and since mortals are more changeable and transient than spirits are, they can influence spirits. It's fine if it's just asking a spirit of compassion for help in closing wounds, that doesn't go against their nature, but to use a spirit's power with anger in your heart... well, it could slowly morph the spirit into a demon.
