It's okay. I see lots worse.

It's my job to be strong and help, but I never killed nobody human before. Just monsters. I was worried I was gonna have to, and I don't wanna, 'cus I think I wanna be way older before I kill a person.

[He says it with conviction, because he really doesn't want to kill anyone. He loves people being alive. He loves finding peaceful solutions or just capturing the bad guys! The last thing he wants to do is kill anybody here, even if they could be villains or not. Even if they could kill him or not.

He wants to try to do the good thing.

And killing, no matter how you can't avoid it sometimes, is not a good thing.

He glances up at Winter.]

I just want everyone to be happy, the mostest.

Don't kill a person unless it's either you or them. It's not a good feeling, being the reason someone is dead.

[ Takeshi's still got his whole life, and he'll definitely sleep a lot better at night without his conscience weighing down on him. ]

[He nods, solemn.]

You have a real bad time 'cus of that, don't you? You hurt people before you was here.

[He knows how normal it is, for people to hurt other people. He knows.]

Yeah, I do. I don't remember everything, but I know I killed a lot of people. Hurt even more of them.

[ Hell, nightmares or being unable to sleep because of it is still an unfair payoff to all of the red in his ledger. He still have to figure out how to make up for it, later. ]

[The boy seems to consider that for a long moment, mulling it over.]

Did you like to do that? Hurt people? And worser?

I didn't want to, but I didn't have a choice.

[ Maybe it's a hard concept for a kid to get. Being brainwashed, but being subconsciously aware of what was going on. Being able to do fuck-all about it.

Winter rubs at his shoulder flesh turns to metal. The dead weight of the arm hasn't been doing him any favors. ]

[He cocks his head.]

They made you do bad things.

Then it's not your fault; it's not fair if you can't help it. They killed people, not you, didn't they?

[ He shakes his head. ]

I still did it. It was my finger that pulled the trigger. Doesn't make it any less my fault- even if I didn't want to do it.

[He stares for a moment, trying to wrap his mind around that kind of logic.]

I hurt things before because people made me. I fought lots of things.

Does that mean it was my fault, too?

You're just a kid. You're not accountable for someone forcing you.

[ It doesn't make sense, kid, but he holds himself to different, more rigorous standards. ]

It wasn't your fault.

[He frowns a bit more, looking mildly peeved. Ugh!

He stands up in the chair, so he can at least be Winter's height.]

That's dumb! That's a dumb thing you just said, Mr. Winter.

[You're being scolded by a small beeb, how does that make you feel.]

You're rude to yourself, but not to other people! It's a bad way to be! You should be polite to your own self, too, 'cus you just gotta. It wasn't your fault, even if you say dumb things.

[ Even if it were as simple as saying he wasn't at fault for anything he did, the guilt doesn't let go. ]
