He looks relaxed, and...his mustache is waxed. And he's wearing eyeliner with wings sharp enough to kill a man.]

I have a business proposition, for anyone interested. It's simple work, but I cannot offer payment in money. I can, however, offer use of my services.

Ouch. I never thought I'd see the day when the elf actually had friends who ganged up on his other friends. It just-- it brings a tear to my eye.

[He sniffs dramatically.]

Hmm, I'm not sure about the bustle. Maybe a giant cravat around your neck. I mean, I could have you wearing women's clothes if you're into that, Sparkler...

[Friends? Were they friends? Dorian doesn't say anything, and only for a moment is there a look of thoughtfulness that passes over his face.]

I don't know, I've never quite tried it. I prefer well-tailored robes to set off my wide shoulders, that sort of thing.

I take it that's a yes, and I'll expect to read about myself riding into the sunset with him.

Is that so? I'll think about it, then. A bustle would definitely make your shoulders look smaller.

[Varric sighs.]

Yeah, yeah. I guess I don't have a choice now, do I? Everyone always likes the romance. It's my worst work-- don't know why they bother.

Well, what is your best work, then? If I were to read one thing by the great Varric Tethras, what would be your magnum opus?

Personally, I don't think I've peaked yet. But my best work is definitely Tale of the Champion. It got me noticed in more than one way. [Freaking Cassandra. He'll never skip a chance to brag about his best friend Hawke, though.]

I'll have to give it a read when I return home. I'm not certain that Skyhold has any books that aren't just Chantry propaganda.
