[No, not poor Caster, she's listening attentively, a sleeve raised to cover her mouth to hide the very broad grin she has under it.

(She's also noticing he didn't even seem to blink at the 'when she was alive' comment. This guy seems interesting.)]

That's right... And now the study has advanced so far you can determine the very elements that make up a star just by the color of its light. The stars that were once so distant are now within your grasp, and humans shall leave the Earth behind, far beyond even the prying eyes of the Moon Cell...

That is the history of your world, is it not? The history that was meant to happen, that humans will venture into space to spread to the stars. Mystery and magic dwindle, and science becomes the pillar of humanity, laying bare even the secrets of the stars.

[It's more like he has seen (and heard) some shit, nothing really surprises him anymore. But anyway! The fact that she seems interested and her prediction of the future just makes Clay all the more excited; have humans advanced that far? In her world, at least?]

Well, we haven't done it yet, but that's definitely what we're striving to do! Even now, we're exploring space, trying to find a planet suitable for human life. Leaving Earth isn't an option right now, but maybe someday in the future - probably way beyond my time, but eventually? I know it's going to happen. Science will prevail, and humanity as we know it will leave Earth and travel among the stars; that's the future I want to happen!

The Earth was only ever the start for humanity. The yearning for exploration, to discover the new, to leave one's nest... These are ingrained into humanity. When magi leave their bodies to send their souls alone to the Moon, that stems from such a drive. To reach enlightenment and escape Samsara, that too is discovery of the unknown. In timelines when humans reach for the stars, they follow that same feeling, whether it is science or magic... It is the nature of humans.

Well, this star will get a little lonely when that happens, but it's all right! I suppose this is how a mother feels when her children gain independence? It's a normal thing. Who knows what will rise up on Earth once humans have left it, anyway? And, I'll still have foxes!

[She is, in fact, just casually referring to herself as a star. In case this conversation wasn't weird enough yet.]
