[At long last, the fleet has arrived to a new planet. This means it's time for a mingle guys! Get in! ]

[He takes the mug in hand, tipping his head to her in thanks.] I wish I'd thought of that sooner. I have to rely on my frightening looks. [This tends to work on most other planets; not this one.]

[passingthrough]

I'm guessing they still see a big teddy bear. [Smirking a little.] So what do you think of it? The stuff that happens when you do touch someone long enough. Kind of like being Charles? [She figures he's probably had an experience similar to her and Winn since touching can go on for awhile and it doesn't have to be dirty, okay!]

[grandstanding]

[He doesn't dignify that with a response; only a scowl.]

It's similar in some respects. The difference is I don't appreciate it with anyone else. [Especially given how perilously easy it is to have someone else's feelings and memories sliding into your mind by touch alone. He's already gotten some of it from the inn's head chef, who seems to think it would be acceptable to claim him as her own.] It can't be innate talent, though. Or else why would we all be susceptible?

[passingthrough]

Definitely not my favorite with strangers. [But she's pretty honest and open and has few objections to friends beyond Winn.]

[She nods in agreement to his assessment.] Seems like it has to be something about the planet. Maybe something we're breathing? Hmm. Actually, with the masks from the moon that would be pretty easy to test unless it is something that stays in your system for awhile. [She doesn't like the thought of breaking out the breathing masks again.]

[grandstanding]

[He sips at his drink as he considers this. He hadn't thought of it being some kind of airborne agent... Kitty is right, that it would be easy to test. Tedious, though. And nobody appears to be dying of emotional cooties, that he's seen.

Belatedly, he slaps some acorn payment on the counter.]

I'll ask Hank. I'm sure he'd be delighted to test it.

[passingthrough]

[She adds the acorns to the basket they go in. Things are high tech here.]

Are you always just volunteering him for things?

[grandstanding]

He hasn't said no yet. [So, yes. He is.] I wouldn't be surprised if he's already out in the forest taking notes on bark.
