forcesensitive: (okay sure)

[Finn follows along intently, nodding where appropriate.]

Okay. So the lure is like a fake food? And when they try to eat it, you hook 'em.

[The terminology is an awful lot like many of the tactical maneuvers he's learned, and it occurs to Finn belatedly that this might actually be what they were named after back when combat was all ground-focused and people actually had bodies of water nearby instead of being in space all the time.]
forcesensitive: (what do you think?)

[He takes the rod gingerly and tests how it feels in his hand. Hmm. Kind of like a whip. With that he casts, and it's not terrible for a first try.]

Okay! What do I do if it bites? And how do I tell?
forcesensitive: (say what)

[He'll have plenty of opportunity to get better. Finn nods, concentrating. Wait for a big tug--

The first time he reels it in, it's too early and there's nothing on the line. The second time, he snags it in some seaweed. The third time, though, he feels the difference - there's something tugging on the line!]

I think I got it this time!
forcesensitive: (yeah!!)

Okay!

[He is not a natural at this, but he figured out how to reel against the tension quickly enough. If the fish were bigger it'd probably snap his line, but as he reels it in, it's a tiny little thing. Finn looks proud as he pulls it out of the water.]</small I got one! Look at it!

Ha! Thanks, man. [He holds the fish up proudly.]

Probably not big enough to keep though, right? Do we throw it back?
