[At long last, the fleet has arrived to a new planet. This means it's time for a mingle guys! Get in! ]

By all means. We can explore at whatever pace you're comfortable with.

[Mikleo steps back into the water, resting the end of his staff in the sand beneath the surface, waiting happily. It's been a joy to explore regardless, but he's always had more fun with company.]

[ Maglor swims out to him - and for all his hesitance, it is clear that he does, in fact, know how to swim, and was probably quite a good swimmer, if out of practice now. ]

I trust you, Mikleo - let us see how we do!

[nerdeology]

[Somehow being trusted in this makes it even more intimidating, but- well, Mikleo is going to have to trust both himself and the ocean to see them through this, and so far the ocean has yet to disappoint. So after a moment's pause he smiles brightly, gripping his staff, and plunges into the water after Maglor. He's determined to make sure they both enjoy this to the fullest.]

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor treads water while he waits for Mikleo, curious to see how this will play out ]

[nerdeology]

[Let's see... the west, didn't he say? Those reefs had a lot to offer, so Mikleo gestures in that direction and starts swimming, leading the way towards the areas he's already explored. It's harder to swim with the staff, but he'd rather have it out and available than lose a few seconds of time summoning it if an emergency happens. Even with it weighing him down, the water will keep him afloat.]

If you can set the pace you're comfortable with, I'll lead. Please let me know if you need to stop, okay?

[bythewaves]

Of course. [ Maglor orients himself and starts off, reminding himself that he needs to pace things and take it slow, for he is long out of practice. His endurance, he knows, is simply not quite what it was.

Sure enough, it only takes perhaps 10 minutes or so before he has to pause to tread water ]

A moment...

[nerdeology]

[Mikleo halts at once, turning back towards him and swimming closer. He holds the staff out flat against the surface of the water, hands near each end, and stretches it out between them in case Maglor needs something to hold on to. It's not a floatation device, but there's definitely some pressure beneath it that's keeping it from sinking.]

Take as long as you need. Would you rather rest on shore?

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor smiles at him gratefully and rests on the staff for a moment ]

No - tis only that my stamina is simply not what it used to be, and I do not know the currents here to work with them. I will be fine, I think - we may simply have to rest more often.

[nerdeology]

That's fine with me, just say the word. We have plenty of time, I think.

[Heck, they're immortal folk. They've got nothing but time, technically.]

[bythewaves]

Well - so long as we do not stay out when the ships head off, I suppose. [ Maglor agrees wryly and then nods ]

Alright - let us go again.

[ He listens to the push and pull of the waves, this time, trying to work with the currents, rather than against them ]

[nerdeology]

[Mikleo returns the nod and kicks off, starting back down the beach.]

I didn't even think of the ships... we should be alright as long as we steer clear of the docks, but let's be careful, just in case.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor nods ]

I think that would be wise. [ He follows along after Mikleo, making sure to pay attention and try and work with the currents, this time, which enables him to get further before he needs to call a rest ]

[nerdeology]

[Before too much time passes, Mikleo stops paddling along and points downwards, glancing over with a smile.]
