I mostly use it as background noise, when the lab gets too quiet.

[listen you haven't exposed him to the full spectrum his opinion remains until you share some decent-sounding music with him]

I'm not British. [only his actor is] Or 50, it's better for you. I drink coffee too, when there's no tea available. [he snorts] I think I'm evenly split between tea and coffee. The rest is blood and - you know, chemicals.

[it sounds bad no matter how he says that tbh]

I get that - not too distracting.

[ it's part of why he likes instrumental soundtracks so much, no risk of the lyrics getting caught up in his typing. ]

The tea, the jazz, you're kinda making my case for me.

[ look if he cared about what's better for him he would have to completely turn around his diet, he eats terribly. and drinks terribly, even when he's not consuming alcohol. which he is. quite often. sometimes at work. ]

[personal profile] beathach 2016-07-06 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
Right. I can't say I've taken the time to listen to soundtracks, though, to go back a bit. I'll give them a shot - some of the movies I've seen have fantastic music.

[that would make notes very awkward]

You did catch the part where I said I drink coffee too, right? Tea was easier to get in Kyriakos, so it grew on me.

[listen Winn, it isn't about what you eat or drink, it's how much and how often and some other scientific nonsense. Bad habits are okay in moderation.

Let's not talk about alcohol, though, he's been drinking too much lately]

Dude, you should.

[ it would make his software not work. ]

Okay in that case you're off the hook.

[ he's drank tea here too because it was just more readily available.

moderation? sorry, he's unfamiliar with this word. ]

What's your taste in fiction?

I'm accepting recommendations starting now.

[would you get a twerking error at the end]

Thought so. As long as it has caffeine, I don't really care. Which is - bad coming from a doctor, but it isn't as if we're known for our good habits anyway.

[that's what learning is for]

Fiction? Ah . . . science fiction? I don't really - indulge in reading for fun too much. I watch a little TV and that sort of gives me my fill. What about you?

I'll make you a list!

[ he doesn't want to forget anything - and also try to remember how long he has to wait for these movies, if they'll even come out on hank's earth.

that's never an error. ]

Beggars can't be choosers, but choosers choose coffee. In my time, they're basically saying everything's gonna kill you. may as well enjoy the ride.

[ waving it off, if you're looking for good health tips you've come to the wrong place! ]

It's half of what I live for back home - sci-fi, fantasy, adventure - I love it.

[ so basically hank is the blue mature winn, is what they're getting at. ]

A list would also work.

[he has already heard of some of what he has to look forward to and he'll be very disappointed if it doesn't come along.

He can't help but grin, though. Of course everything could kill you]
I could go on about how it's really about moderation, but I'm not going to bother. And I can't function without tea or coffee in the morning, and there's no way I'm giving that up.

[true, but it isn't like Hank is the epitome of good health, either. Look at all the sun he doesn't get, for example]

Mm, if given the chance I don't think I'd be very picky. As long as it's entertaining.

[that's pretty much it]
winn: (The hell with radiation. Let’s go.)

[personal profile] winn 2016-07-06 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'd save your breath, no amount of words'll ever keep me away from my coffee.

[ he nods. he can't function without a refill every couple hours at least. ]

It's so entertaining - we don't have a lot of movies on the network - but I'm working on a projector so we can have movie nights in style with the ones we got, you should join in!

Trust me, I know better than to try. And I'd be a hypocrite anyway.

[he's like that with tea, especially if he's holding up in the lab. Which - well, he's been trying not to do since they landed, but still. There's always tea nearby somewhere]

I have a feeling I'm required to go - Kara mentioned something similar. [and how many people have told him to get out more? He's lost count]

Such a cruel fate - movies, food, and great company. Your friend are evil.

[ he pats hank's shoulder sympathetically - conveying no sympathy whatsoever. ]

I know, it's terrible, isn't it?

[he sounds so incredibly sincere, except for where he doesn't]
