(  A  ) ICE  CREAM

[ so this was a good time to complete the ice cream machine, obviously. the heat and the beach make the machine a much needed addition for the atmosphere so those who want to take out some ice cream to their walk by the seaside or the markets, need only come to the blameless and ask nicely. They only have two flavors so far, vanilla and peanut butter but it's better than nothing, right?

ask nicely enough and he might make yours look like a flower, ok. ]

(  B  )  THE  BEACH

[ so beach means one thing right? board shorts and cisco might be seen in a pair sitting at the beach, just by the water and enjoying the heat. occasionally, he will have some of that ice cream with him but you could find him with some fruit from the markets, eating and enjoying the time of leisure.

if you're lucky, you might find him there with a soda, singing this as it plays on his phone ]

(  C  )  WILDCARD

[ for anything else! ]

[ Ice cream, you say? Of course he manages to hear about this somehow through the grapevine that is the Fleet, and it would make a nice treat to take down to the beach for the day. Thank you, Augmented blood, for letting him burn calories a bit faster and not feel guilty about a creamy treat (and keeping Bones from insisting he go on diets). ]

So - how did you come up with peanut butter as the second option? Aren't the two basics vanilla and chocolate?
benames: (pic#10209990)

[personal profile] benames 2016-06-25 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Not on my watch buddy, peanut butter is so much better than -

[ he turns, a little cup meant for the ice cream in hand and he nearly drops it. not again, how does he always manage to be weird or otherwise rude around captain kirk? what a tragic turn his life has taken. he freezes for a moment and then hurries to put both flavors in the cup and hand it to him.

he gave captain kirk ice cream.

that's it, he can die happy now. ]

ah - well. I just found the peanut butter gel to be more cooperative. also peanut butter is dope.
universal_charm: (I got this)

[personal profile] universal_charm 2016-06-29 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
[ He really didn't get the reaction, but he didn't think to hard on it considering it got him two flavors. He supposed his reputation might have proceeded him, especially if Winn had been talking to Cisco. But again, it wasn't like it much mattered, right?

He took it with a grateful smile, using the little spoon to scoop up a bite and pop it in his mouth. ]

Well who am I to argue with that logic?
benames: (pic#10209974)

[personal profile] benames 2016-07-03 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Ok, Ramon, now is your chance, get your game on ]

I bet we could go for chocolate. I mean, if there's a chocolate flavored gel - is there a chocolate flavored gel? I usually go for the salty, spicy ones but if there is one it might do the trick. I mean this is like sorbet, it's mostly water so it might not be the same as the ice cream back home but.

[ shrug ]

lactose-free and no fear of animal cruelty, I guess.

[personal profile] universal_charm 2016-07-04 04:30 am (UTC)(link)

Heh, don't worry, I'm use to space-food. So long as it tastes fine, I'll eat it.

[ He gave Ramon a grin before popping the ice cream in his mouth, making "mm-mm" sounds as he did so. ]

I'm glad someone figured this out.

Well, it was a Team Nerd effort. Hank started working on it and I sort of took off. Never really did any food engineering before, that was his part, I only created the toy itself.

[ pointing to the machine ]

And we had Kate for motivation, she was seriously invested in this little baby.

Is that what you're calling yourselves? I'm surprised Winn hasn't made up shirts for you.

[ It is absolutely something he would do, don't deny it. He made a t-shirt for pizza, after all. He glanced up at Cisco and raised a brow, a little smile curling at his lips. ]

Motivation, hmmm?

→ HERMIONE

[personal profile] benames 2016-06-25 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)

[ ok so one of the first things he notices about the beach ( except for the awesome water fluff slugs and the fact that they're awesome ) is the carnival. he sees the ferris wheel from afar and a closer inspection shows that there are classic ride, humble but downright cool when you consider they're on a different planet. there are even little stalls that offer plushies. he never really was the type to be able to throw balls at bottles and knock them all but he does spend an hour there learning the technique ( for science and research, mind you ) before going back and daring to shoot hermione a message ]

yo

liking planet touchy-feely so far?
brainiest: please don't take! (sunshines and daises)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-06-25 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Hermione has, probably not surprisingly, been enjoying herself - compared to the moon this is almost heavenly, especially with the wide, open forests that make her prickle with delight. It's almost like she's back in the Drabwurld, and the glee she feels is overwhelming. She has to calm herself down before she loses her mind, and it's only when her device buzzes with a message that she comes out of her little reverie and starts to grin widely. ]

I love it! It's beautiful and it reminds me of home.

What do you think?
benames: (pic#10209985)

[personal profile] benames 2016-06-25 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[ he looks at the message for a moment before quickly typing a response. come on, Ramon, it wasn't even a hard question. ]

Yeah, it's seriously awesome

I mean there's a beach

and a carnival. did you see it? they have a little roller coaster and ferris whell and stuff.
brainiest: (i'll be bulletproof)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-06-25 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
The beach does make a nice change. I can't remember the last time I went to one and had actual fun.

[ Last time had been blood magic and terrible things, so... ]

I saw, but I haven't had a chance to go yet. It's been even longer since I went to a fun fair at all. They're not really big things in the wizarding world.
benames: (pic#10209952)

[personal profile] benames 2016-07-03 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it's not magic and it's definitely old school rides and overly sugary snacks but.

[ you can do it, Ramon, this one is for team flash ]

Maybe we could go. I mean, you and me, one afternoon, if you want to.
brainiest: (one more time)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-07-03 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
It sounds perfect, just like the ones at home.

[ And, of course, Hermione doesn't think this is anything date-like, why would she?, so - ]

I'd love that, Cisco. Did you have a day in mind?
benames: (pic#10209949)

[personal profile] benames 2016-07-03 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe tomorrow?

We could go in the afternoon when it's not too hot.
brainiest: (that's the one)

[personal profile] brainiest 2016-07-03 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds perfect. Just tell me where to meet you and I'll be there!

[ she has ice cream because of course she has ice cream. she was on the dev team. she'll get some ice cream and try to drag cisco out for a walk ]

You know, I think I like the vanilla better, still.
benames: (pic#10209963)

[personal profile] benames 2016-07-03 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh come on!

[ really, kara? he gets a spoonful of peanut butter ice cream and tastes it ]

Ok, the flavor is suffering from the lack of milk. People don't usually do sorbets for peanut butter. I did see some for vanilla. It'll be like that until one of us can snag a space cow from one of the planets.

[ .. ]

space milk. now that would be a feat.
takingkarabusiness: (melissa-bonist-supergirl-2780258)

[personal profile] takingkarabusiness 2016-07-03 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Probably not as weird as you would think...
benames: (pic#10209962)

[personal profile] benames 2016-07-13 12:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't see any space cows. D'you think they have something in that jungle that we could milk? and more than that- will we take the risk of drinking it and turning into some kind of bio-galactic half ape-half man hybrid?

[ cisco what. ]

...

I'm going to leave answering that question up to you, Cisco.
benames: (pic#10209961)

[personal profile] benames 2016-07-15 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
uh, the question is of course. in small doses.

[ come on, space cows!! ]

ok, so ice cream is a success. I say next, we try frosting.
takingkarabusiness: (6)

[personal profile] takingkarabusiness 2016-07-15 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Shouldn't frosting be easier?
benames: (pic#10209984)

[personal profile] benames 2016-07-17 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
It's trickier than it sounds.

[ he sits down and helps himself to a cup of vanilla ice cream. ok, it might be his fifth cup but it's been a long time since they had anything that wasn't gel or protein solid. ]

this is based on sorbet but to get the proper texture of frosting, I think we need butter.
