Boy, they weren't kidding when they said the ships were tiny. Well, least it's not too cramped... [It was at this moment that Adachi found the bunk room.] Then again, maybe I spoke too soon.

allu, meanwhile, was in the engine room. was, though--she's trotting back to the bunk room, dressed in red and with her hair down. she has a small notepad with her, jotting some things down, though she pauses when she sees adachi. ]
Oh, so there's finally someone else aboard.
[ she says nothing else about it though, adjusting her glasses and walking past him towards her bed, hopping on and crossing her legs indian-style. ]
I'm Captain Honeycutt.
no subject
C- Captain Honeycutt? So, you're the one in charge of this ship? [Adachi tries to hide his incredulous, but is failing at it... abysmally. Just his freaking luck. He gets put on some ship with some sort of female midget in charge. And what the hell kind of name is Honeycutt anyways?]
no subject
That's right. I prefer Second Lieutenant, but Captain is Captain, I suppose.
[ so, one guy on here already. she's not liking these odds. she's really starting to miss minfilia, y'shtola and yda about now. even her sisters in arms would be nice. she flips the paper over. ]
Your name?
no subject
Oh, I'm Tohru Adachi. I am, or I guess was, a detective for my police department back home. Not that I think rank will matter much here.
[Adachi wondered if that dig was too obvious? Oh well, annoying as this situation is, if he wants to avoid trouble, he'll probably have to play along... for now...]
no subject
at least, until; ]
You mean to say that I should treat you as a regular policeman and not a competent detective...? I would say the rank you were given from your home is a good indicator of how well you should manage as part of a functioning crew.
no subject
Oh, well... Ah heh, I guess you have a point there. [Time to change the subject, and maybe reassure his "captain" that she won't have to check up on him all the time. The least thing he needed was another pain-in-the-ass superior like Dojima.] At any rate, I apparently have a security augment, so I'm sure that my job as a detective will help me keep the ship safe, captain. [Adachi paused briefly before he added on the "captain."]
[Second lieutenant... captain... like any of that made any damn difference. This was all a game anyways, some reality TV show. Of course, if she wanted to play at being in charge, then Adachi would let her. Again, whatever keeps her happy and off his back.]
no subject
allu just frowns at her calculations. then, she actually looks at him. ]
Good. I've yet to hear anything akin to regular dangers from anyone on this network, but since you were given that augment and are a detective, you're capable of handling the safety of the ship and its crew.
[ a beat. ]
If there are any more.
[ please, nald'thal. please let there be others on the ship. she hasn't been around this guy long enough to tell, but... she's got bad feelings. ]
no subject
Of course. Leave it to me! [And now to try and make an exit...] Well, I suppose I should get back to inspecting the rest of the ship. Got to make sure everything looks safe and in order! [Adachi gives a short chuckle, and then starts inching his way towards the door.]
no subject
you can go, adachi. for now. she'll keep her eye on you, twelve damn it. ]

Tch- What a pain in the ass... [He returned to his exploration with new purpose. His augment was telling him that somewhere on this ship was an area dedicated to the storage of security equipment.]
[And he wanted a firearm.]
casually hops in late (if that's cool!)
Why not let us keep our own arms, if they're going to provide them here? These are pointless.
[He's eyeing a sidearm dubiously-- yeah, these don't exist where he's from, and he doesn't think he trusts them. A weapon you don't know how to use isn't very helpful, is it?]
But of course!
Oh, hello! Glad to see another crew member. I'm Adachi. Apparently I'm to be this ship's security officer. What's your name?
no subject
Somewhat, anyway. Sharing a ship this small with strangers isn't a very relaxing thought.]
Arhen Lavellan. Piloting the thing, apparently, but we'll just have to see how that goes. [That comes with a small, wry grin. No big deal, he'll be fine. Probably.] Just tell me you're familiar with at least some of this, and we might have a shot at not doing too horribly.
no subject
You're the pilot? And you call this ship... a "thing?" Um, are you sure you're trained for this?
[Adachi looks over the various supplies in the armory.]
This all looks more or less familiar. Though I'm guessing not to you?
no subject
[He shrugs one shoulder, evidently not too concerned about this.]
But no, it's not at all familiar to me. This sort of travel didn't exist where I'm from.
no subject
Well, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. Just do me the favor of letting me know before you try anything too fancy all right? [What followed may have been the sincerest awkward chuckle of Adachi's life.]
[That's when Adachi notices the ears. Odd that he didn't before. Guess he was too distracted by the whole pilot thing.]
Oh, are you an elf? You wouldn't happen to be friends with Nel-kun would you?
