[ she makes no motion to stop him, just flipping to another page as she counts off mechanisms and parts that she's found on the ship.

[Adachi keeps the smile up as he heads out the bunkroom door.]

[But once he's clear of Allu's line of sight, the smile drops away immediately, replaced by a grim look of frustration.]

Tch- What a pain in the ass... [He returned to his exploration with new purpose. His augment was telling him that somewhere on this ship was an area dedicated to the storage of security equipment.]

[And he wanted a firearm.]

[He won't be the only one checking out the armory- Arhen's decided that he'd better be more familiar with this ship if he's meant to fly the thing, so Adachi will find a fairly short elf poking around with a distinctly unimpressed look.]

Why not let us keep our own arms, if they're going to provide them here? These are pointless.

[He's eyeing a sidearm dubiously-- yeah, these don't exist where he's from, and he doesn't think he trusts them. A weapon you don't know how to use isn't very helpful, is it?]

[Adachi had expected to find the armory empty. In fact, he had almost resigned himself to the notion that he and the diminutive bitch of a captain were the only crew members on the ship. He had to admit it was rather relieving to discover that this wouldn't be the case. Yet, it still remained to be seen whether or not this new individual would be just as much a pain in his ass.]

Oh, hello! Glad to see another crew member. I'm Adachi. Apparently I'm to be this ship's security officer. What's your name?

[He starts slightly before quickly turning to face Adachi, his expression wary at first before he lets out a slow breath and manages to relax.

Somewhat, anyway. Sharing a ship this small with strangers isn't a very relaxing thought.]

Arhen Lavellan. Piloting the thing, apparently, but we'll just have to see how that goes. [That comes with a small, wry grin. No big deal, he'll be fine. Probably.] Just tell me you're familiar with at least some of this, and we might have a shot at not doing too horribly.

[Wait, THIS guy is the pilot? That's a rather troubling thought.]

You're the pilot? And you call this ship... a "thing?" Um, are you sure you're trained for this?

[Adachi looks over the various supplies in the armory.]

This all looks more or less familiar. Though I'm guessing not to you?

I know enough, I'm sure. Not that that's entirely comforting, given that I'm not exactly trained, but a little practice should do it. I'm at least used to navigation.

[He shrugs one shoulder, evidently not too concerned about this.]

But no, it's not at all familiar to me. This sort of travel didn't exist where I'm from.

[Super. So Adachi's on a ship with an untrained pilot, but at least he's used to navigation. You've gotta be kidding me. Between this guy and the bossy midget, Adachi's prospects on this ship were not looking so good thus far. He tries to shrug off his disappointment, and puts on a friendly face.]

Well, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it. Just do me the favor of letting me know before you try anything too fancy all right? [What followed may have been the sincerest awkward chuckle of Adachi's life.]

[That's when Adachi notices the ears. Odd that he didn't before. Guess he was too distracted by the whole pilot thing.]

Oh, are you an elf? You wouldn't happen to be friends with Nel-kun would you?
