Who: Erik and you
Broadcast: Text, fleetwide
Action: the Heron
When: July 23rd
text.
If anyone - for whatever reason - wants some novelty fridge magnets, there is a sponsor crate of them on the Heron. You can take as many as you want, though there isn't that much variety.
I will note at the outset that no, there are no alphabet pieces.
[Along with this rather brief message is attached a photo of the crate's contents. Half the magnets seem to be little cartoon planets. The other half are... well... magnets.]
action.
[Anyone inclined to visit the Heron to take up this exciting offer - or just to visit - will find Erik leaning against the crate in the cargo hold. He has a number of the magnets suspended in the air above one hand, and every few minutes he flicks his fingers, sending one flying into the hull wall.
The crate itself is emblazoned with the message "To the most ATTRACTIVE guy on the Fleet! - Magnecessities". Maybe that's part of why he looks faintly irritated.
Flick goes another magnet.]

Erik gives Hux a considering look, before he nods. He hasn't been back on the Heron since they landed here, and the new people aren't familiar to him.]
Sponsorship, from this show's supposed audience. It happens from time to time.

[Hux gave Erik an appraising look as the magnets dropped from the air. He wasn't impressed with the 'captain' of the ship so far so he didn't have high hopes for the rest of the crew.]
So what is your role on the ship then?
no subject
Engineering. You're one of the new crew members, I take it.
no subject
Yes, I've only recently arrived. I've been able to pull some information but I admit I'm not used to this level of technology.
no subject
[The technology level has been a learning curve for Erik as well, so he doesn't comment. The fact that Winter mentioned him doesn't surprise him, though he's seen little of the man lately.]
So, are you Hux or Travers? [He's skimmed the manifest for the new names. He's heard of one, and would prefer to know which this man is.]
no subject
[He started pulling up information on the tablet to go through what information he had already. He wasn't that optimistic but this ship would be a disgrace even to an Old Republic fleet.]
Hux.
[he glanced up sharply, wondering what to expect.]
no subject
Railings in the bathrooms. Otherwise, no. Things are as I found them, save for repairs.
I see. I've heard of you. [He sounds bored. Regardless of the warning Charles had passed him from Winter, Erik's not of a mind to be concerned. "Dangerous" was so subjective.]
no subject
I'm sure. [Hux isn't going to ask, he's sure he can guess what Erik might have heard. So long as he's not going to be attacked, he doesn't care.]
no subject
The ship isn't in top condition, as far as I can make out. It's not going to fall out of the sky, though, and that suits us fine.
Are you intending to make a habit of attacking people? [This, really, is the key concern for Erik. He's been in confined spaces before with others who decided their vendettas were worth more than keeping things civil. He detests them.]
no subject
[But he wasn't holding out hope for anything here, not anymore.]
I have no intention or reason to shoot just anyone on this ship or in the fleet. [The matter of the Resistance pilot would have to be handled later, there were other things he had to turn his attention to in the meanwhile.]
no subject
So, it was shooting, was it? [It hardly matters what Hux's intentions are. He's already made the first move.]
no subject
He had no inclination to justify himself when it came to the matter of the pilot.]
The Resistance pilot? Yes, it was. Or are you concerned for the star systems and planets we visit instead? [He raised his eyebrows, it wasn't a secret of what he had done.]
no subject
Unless you plan to bring wrath down on us from those planets, I don't care. [He's heard nothing about planets, and Hux doesn't strike him as fearsome enough to warrant any genuine concern.] What concerns me is you seem to be new, yet you've already shot someone within a confined space that we all have to share.
no subject
[This may not be his galaxy but he will always seek to restore order no matter where he was, he believed in it that strongly.]
I have no intention of shooting him a second time, at least here, unless he or his allies decide to break the truce.
no subject
Your political baggage doesn't interest me. Nor do I care for military men. Don't make a nuisance of yourself.
no subject
[He like being told how to handle himself or the Resistance. He tapped the datapad idly against his hand, his features twitching in annoyance. So much for his morning run.]
Now, if you're done, I have other things to attend to than justifying myself to you at the moment.
no subject
You can suggest whatever you want.
[Erik just won't listen. With that, he waves the door that Hux first came through open.]
Have a good evening. [You're dismissed.]
no subject
Either way, he could channel his annoyance into taking the afternoon off to make coffee and work on some of his personal projects for the Order. So he said nothing, only turning sharping on his heel, leaving without another word.]
