If anyone - for whatever reason - wants some novelty fridge magnets, there is a sponsor crate of them on the Heron. You can take as many as you want, though there isn't that much variety.

I will note at the outset that no, there are no alphabet pieces.

[Along with this rather brief message is attached a photo of the crate's contents. Half the magnets seem to be little cartoon planets. The other half are... well... magnets.]

[Anyone inclined to visit the Heron to take up this exciting offer - or just to visit - will find Erik leaning against the crate in the cargo hold. He has a number of the magnets suspended in the air above one hand, and every few minutes he flicks his fingers, sending one flying into the hull wall.

The crate itself is emblazoned with the message "To the most ATTRACTIVE guy on the Fleet! - Magnecessities". Maybe that's part of why he looks faintly irritated.

[Erik peers at it, before recognition lights in his eyes. He has seen Hank carrying this before, around the mansion.] From Kyriakos, wasn't it?

[There's a pause, then Erik continues.] It gave me something that belonged to my parents. I haven't seen it in years.

[he nods, staring at the book for a moment before glancing back to Erik] Right. Viva gave it to me before we left.

[Hank pauses as well, before he speaks up] What was it?

Ah, I see. [Erik had left that place with his own gifted items - more than he had expected. They were all lined up in his room at the mansion, a shelf of proof that somewhere in the multiverse, people missed him.]

A locket. [There's some hesitation in his voice, but he proceeds to dig a hand into his pocket and he withdraws the silver necklace, holding it out in his palm. He doesn't open the locket section itself; it's clearly old.]

[whatever he brought back from Kyriakos had been placed in his office, save for the book - that he carried with him, because it held so much more meaning to him.

He leans over a bit to look at the locket, though, a bit surprised. He'd only heard a couple of things that tree had given people, and seen the picture it had given Raven, but this . . . this was a lot more than a book or a frame]

I see . . . I'm glad it gave you something so important.

[Privately, Erik is glad too, despite the circumstances that have returned the locket to him. He had never forgotten it, just been too far away in years past to retrieve it. Folding his fingers around it, he returns the locket to his pocket.]

It feels almost redundant to comment on how strange it is, to receive presents from a tree.

[he raises an eyebrow at what Erik says, then shrugs a shoulder, reaching for his book]

It does, I suppose, but we've experienced much stranger than that.

True enough.

Mmm. At least this time, it's a nice kind of strange.
