If anyone - for whatever reason - wants some novelty fridge magnets, there is a sponsor crate of them on the Heron. You can take as many as you want, though there isn't that much variety.

I will note at the outset that no, there are no alphabet pieces.

[Along with this rather brief message is attached a photo of the crate's contents. Half the magnets seem to be little cartoon planets. The other half are... well... magnets.]

[Anyone inclined to visit the Heron to take up this exciting offer - or just to visit - will find Erik leaning against the crate in the cargo hold. He has a number of the magnets suspended in the air above one hand, and every few minutes he flicks his fingers, sending one flying into the hull wall.

The crate itself is emblazoned with the message "To the most ATTRACTIVE guy on the Fleet! - Magnecessities". Maybe that's part of why he looks faintly irritated.

[ She waves her hand, careless. ]

They'll just make more, or get them from somewhere. Let the Atroma pay for something for a change.

That equipment came from the passengers, Raven. It would be up to us to replace them. [This won't necessarily stop him from wrecking things. It's a sidenote.]

... Maybe we won't break them, then.

[ She huffs, frowning. ]

Unless we can use acorns to get more.

If you're prepared to cut down a tree to turn into a gymnastics bench, feel free. [He'll do no such thing, himself.]

What have you been doing to get funds here?

I could definitely cut down a tree.

[ Huff. :T ]

I've been doing whatever needs to be done. I worked at the blacksmith for a little while.

Is that so? [His interest is sparked by that.] I learned a bit of that kind of work in one of the other places. I only ever used it for myself, but it takes some practice.

It's how I made Charles' birthday present. The people here helped me do it.

[ Lifting a shoulder, she moves awkwardly. ]

I was just making stupid little things until they stepped in, but at least I was trying. Can you do it without the smithy?

I can, but there's something appealing about the forge. [After a pause, he continues.] At the time, I didn't trust my powers, so it was better for me to work that way.

It was fun. [ As far as any kind of hard labour can be fun, but it was good to actually use her strength again. ] This was before here, wasn't it?

It's satisfying.

Yes... it was.

Charles has talked to me about it. It's okay.

[ Raven hesitates, but - ]

The whole other world thing is still weird, but I'm getting it.

[He nods, absently picking up a magnet from the crate. It helps that Raven's gotten another perspective on the worlds they've been to. Erik knows that he views some things more favourably than Charles does, and the reverse is true as well. The whole story will never come out - too much of it is private, hidden, laid to rest. But a sketch is enough to paint the picture.]

At least 'weird' is something we excel at.

[ Raven has heard some things, and she'll never be able to shrug it all off, and she still hasn't spoken to Hank... But at least it's a bit easier. Shifting, she turns to look at her friend and she softens, nodding her head even as she goes to take her own magnets. ]

You'd think we'd be used to it, wouldn't you?

Unfortunately, it comes in many colours.

At least we're getting better at handling it.
