[So... is the whole stuffing-information-in-your-head somebody's Quirk? Because it's an especially scary one, if that's the case. Ochako can't help poking at the back of her neck, feeling for the augment, with an increasing level of alarm as she wanders through the ship she'd woken up in. The communicator gripped tightly in her hands has been all but useless, too- she's tried to call all the numbers she knows by heart, but they won't connect to anyone familiar. She really does appear to be alone in the middle of nowhere. And- okay, she's always liked space and the sky and stars and whatnot- sort of comes hand in hand with gravity control, she figures. But she didn't expect to ever go there. Certainly not without someone who knows what they're doing.

The communicator keeps flashing at her, though, so eventually she braves sending a message to the masses in the hopes of finding some familiar - or at least friendly - faces. Let's... try smiling...! Yes!]

So, um. That. Sure is a lot of space out there, haha!

I guess nobody out there's got a convenient Quirk that can send me home, huh?

I bet! Even back home, the culture is totally different from country to country. I can only imagine what the differences must be like between whole worlds!

Where I'm from, "Uraraka" is my family name, and it always comes first. "Ochako" is my name-name, but most of the time you're supposed to stick to the surname until you know the person better.

Oooh, that's neat. So it's like introducing a bloodline or house before an individual. That's really neat.

Do people get confused when they're addressing your family though? Like if all of you are using the same name. Or does that not happen often?

No, not really. Most of the time it's easy to tell who's addressing who, I think...

[Honorifics and very specific pronouns help.]

Oh, it also depends a lot on age and your relationship to the person you're talking to.

I guess that makes sense. Like nicknames and aliases and stuff. Where I grew up there wasn't much of a need for that, but I've heard about it in more populated cities.

Did you grow up someplace small?

Yeah, you could say that. Someplace really remote; and the culture, eh, well, its people were very long-lived? And they weren't 'born' exactly, so there was no need for house or clan names. Everyone only just ever had a given name, and that's it. [Well and also True Names, but those are kind of secret and he won't get into those.]

[oh right] Uhh, well, not the people I was raised with! They're spirits, so it's more like htye just kind of... [makes a 'poof' motion with his hands. y'know]

No no! Like, elemental spirits! Water and earth, and fire...wind...stuff like that! [........well but] Although I did hear something about some of them being reborn from humans who've died, now that you mention it.

Hey, thanks! You seem pretty chipper yourself, so I'm gonna assume this "Quirk" thing you mentioned is good too. [At least, he's pretty sure from the context she didn't mean something like a personality quirk.] What is that actually?

Ah, thanks!

A Quirk is my world's term for special powers that we get as kids. Everyone's a bit different. And mine is Zero Gravity! I can erase the gravity from things that I touch.

Whoaaa, no way! That's so cool! Can you do it with anything? Organic material? People? Could you show me?

Pretty much whatever I touch- my limit is weight, not substance. And sure, I don't mind showing you!

...Um, when I get off this ship, anyway. I think I'm kind of stuck here.

Heheh, I'm still getting used to this actually. There's nothing like these things back home. Being able to talk to people face-to-face even when they're far away? So cool.

We have this kind of thing back home, so this is familiar, at least. I'm glad that I can see your face now! Oh, but here-

[She sets the comm down, propping it against something, then backs up a step. She vanishes for a couple of moments, then returns holding one of the pillows from the medical area.]

Is this a good spot? Can you see me?

Perfect! [DOUBLE THUMBS UP. ...that she maybe not see from back there. Oh well, she undoubtedly feels it in her adventurous spirit!] Fire it up, Uraraka!

[One quick activation of the Quirk aaaaaand-- the pillow effortlessly floats on its own as she releases it, standing aside with her hands behind her back to show she isn't touching it.]

Heehee, thank you! Lots of people I know have much more flashy Quirks, but I think it's pretty useful.

Yeah, I can do a bunch! I just have to be careful not to do too many at once or I throw up. I'm still in training, after all.
