[Makie's around being her usual antisocial self. SURPRISE. She's more relaxed at the end of her time off-ship, switching out her usual kimono for a loose, dark embroidered dress in the style of the locals, easy to move in, and mostly findable either in the kitchen relaxing over tea (and happy to engage in conversation that's less stilted than her first days here) or in the cargo hold, either playing the shamisen, holding a lesson with Misty, or giving her new weapon some sharpening and attention.

Though the day before they're due to leave planet, she returns to the ship with a secondary, scarf-wrapped parcel tucked in one arm. Misty, she's got a present for you.]

By all means. I had it made here-- it's the same design as my original weapon of choice.

[She straightens out the pike, holding it out close to the chain links so Wrath can get a good look.]

[Wrath squats down to take a very good look at it, though she doesn't try to touch it. You don't grab someone's weapon if they don't give it to you first.]

Likewise. [She feels far more comfortable with it back, even if it's not her own original make.] I think in some ways having an older weapon benefits me. I had another shamisen made, too.

[She'll only lower the weapon when it's clear Wrath is done, and then she smiles.] How have you been, Wrath?

I always like this kind of weapon. Can't run out of bullets, and even if you run out of plasma, you can still cut through shit with it.

Oh, a shamisen! You should play it for us all some time. If you don't mind, I mean. But that would be really cool.

[She smiles.] I'm doing great! I'm still doing my PT every day, and I'm getting stronger. I'm still just happy that I can walk around and everything!

[It's actually leaning against the wall nearby, but she doesn't pull it closer for an impromptu performance. Rather, she takes the front facing away carefully, folding the length of her weapon away within. She figures Wrath might appreciate that.]

Me? I don't know anything about music at all. I mean, it would be super cool if I could do that kind of thing, wow. But I never even thought about it.

It seems I've found some contentment in teaching people such things. You would have to try hard to murder someone with music.

So there was this vid I saw like years ago and I think the story was that this DJ found a special kind of beat and light strobe effect and could make peoples's heads explode.

At least I think it was. I was pretty drunk at the time.
