Hey hey HEY, everybody! It's the start of a new month, and we've had a GREAT time on this planet so far, especially with all this yummy real food! Sooo Kitty and I have been planning a pizza party!

Um, right. So, you should come. I guess. [She doesn't know how to do group invites with ponies. What is life?]

We'll be in this HUGE clearing at THESE coordinates, so bring some smiles, your stomach, and maybe a side dish or snacks if you want too! We'll see you there! And Wrath: we've got chimmy cherry chongas~!

We had to use a few substitutes, but it's still pizza, so you know today's priority. Also a good time to check it out if you've never heard of it.

[Local vendors have been generous enough to loan the use of their ovens and some long wooden tables for the clearing. Sure enough, there's dozens of pies, plain or topped with meat or vegetables or both. There's also jugs and jugs of fruit juices and lemonade and punch, and an equally bountiful dessert table including apple tarts, cakes, donuts, and yes, chimmy cherry chongas. And the best part is there's not a single gel-based ingredient in sight. Feel free to add something to the bounty or just come in, grab a slice, and enjoy!]

Normally, not having all of those things is considered a blessing. Most people don't enjoy getting old.

As for children, they don't have to be your own.

No, but... I'm a vampire. [ Rememner that? ] No one really...wants me around kids and stuff.

[ Geowing old though is something he does not terribly miss at the moment. ]

If you really want to, Sascha, then you can. But you still need to work on your self-control.

That's the most important part about being with children. It's not about you.

I can't help it... It's really exciting to meet people that don't hate me. And hugs are so nice...!

Which is fine. I'm not saying it's wrong.

But I am saying that with children, it's different.

But kids hug their parents all the time!

With children, the parents must always put them first and themselves last.

Technically, Jedi don't have parents.

No. We're taken from our families at a young age to be trained.

You get kidnapped??? [ No wonder tiny!Obi was so grumpy, holy ]

[ Well, that was apparently the wrong thing to say! Sascha starts a little at how firm he sounds before nodding quickly and correcting himself. Sort of. ]

You said 'taken from our parents' so it just...sorta sounded like...y'know.

[beardstrokes]

[ It takes Obi-Wan to realize how rough his voice had been. He stiffens, folding his arms but his tone is gentler. ]

My apologies. It is a sore topic. A parent has to consent to it, of course. All families do. To be trained as a Jedi is an honour and benefits those who are touched by the Force.

[pneumo]

But...what about the kids? I mean, they get to say yes or no too right? [ It can't be all up to the parents if their child stays or goes can it? ]

[beardstrokes]

The children are too young for that kind of decision.

[ He pauses. ] But I've never regretted it. No one I've met has either.

[pneumo]

You don't miss your mom or dad or anything...?

[ Sascha doesn't miss his, never having met or known of them (and by all accounts, if they were human they died long long ago). But he can't help but wonder if it's different for Obi-wan. ]
