[When Jennifer opens the feed, a very canine whine can be heard in the background, and Jennifer reaches back to soothe Naga and offer her a squeaky Flootemon toy that looks suspiciously like Beartic before speaking.]

So, uhm, does anyone know how to take care of a polar bear dog? Korra's in cryosleep, and I think Naga's feeling upset and restless without her. I've never had so much as a normal puppy before, so I don't know the first thing about dog care, much less... polar bear dog care. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Can we feed the fox to it? [Seriously, they have too many pets on board, and certainly too many he didn't like. Ugh, dogs. Remy did not like dogs, it kind of went with the territory. Thieves and dogs did not mix. Though it could be worse, it could be a 'gator...]

[Jennifer stifled a laugh.]

I'm not sure Davesprite would like that. ... nor the fox, for that matter.

Get rid of one of our problems though, non?

It be a dog more or less, right? Most animals need something to keep them occupied. Could see if can train it a bit while Korra be nappin', might help distract the dog 'nd a few of us since we back travellin'. Wouldn't hurt it to know some basics if we ever have a situation where we gotta control it when she ain't 'round.

Yeah. I think for now we'll keep them apart just in case.

That's a good idea. We can at least give her some companionship, and build up a good relationship with her since, well, she is a member of our crew now.

Now, that don't mean I got 'ny clue how to do such a thing, 'nd I would go sayin' we ask some of the local weres, but that might be considered a little rude. [However the grin he had on his face said the opposite, as if Remy didn't mind the possible jokes to go along with such a request.] Would be nice to know if there 'nybody on the Fleet who had experience with animal trainin', but can't 'magine it be that hard. Kinda whole action and food reward thing, non?.

[Jennifer chuckled.]

You'd think, but oftentimes things that seem simple turn out to be difficult. Consulting our local weres, as you say, might be an option if we're desperate, but I'd be wary of getting my head bitten off. [This is said with a wink.]

Yeah, let's wait 'til we get that threat from the dog before we start comparin' the wolves to dogs. [A smile and wink over the com to her.] Though I guess it would balance out from the fox tryin' to eat our ankles.

So far she seems well-behaved, at least. And on the small side, so we can keep her occupied with chew toys in case she tries ankle biting.

[That raises a good point though.] Ah... how big does a polar bear dog thing get? Are we expectin' something more 'dog' size... or more 'bear' size, 'cause that will make quite a difference in the future.

That I don't know. I'd like to hope she'll stay at a size where she's comfortable on a closed ship, or else we're gonna have a lot of trouble down the road.

...that or we goin' to have to let it bunk down in the cargo bay, which seems a little unfair 'nd mean, though not like we would have much other option. Ain't like the ship got a lot of room. We really gotta ask Korra this when she wakes up.

Mmhmm- and that's considering we're one of the most well-off ships in the Fleet, too.
