[When Jennifer opens the feed, a very canine whine can be heard in the background, and Jennifer reaches back to soothe Naga and offer her a squeaky Flootemon toy that looks suspiciously like Beartic before speaking.]

So, uhm, does anyone know how to take care of a polar bear dog? Korra's in cryosleep, and I think Naga's feeling upset and restless without her. I've never had so much as a normal puppy before, so I don't know the first thing about dog care, much less... polar bear dog care. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Oh ah, that is a bit difficult. I've never even had a dog either.

Um. I think you should put some newspaper on the floor? [That's a dog thing, right?]

Hmm, I don't have any newspaper. That's a good idea, though- doing something for a potty, especially since we don't know when we're going to land on another planet.

Yeah, everything has to use the toilet eventually and if you want to avoid a mess that's probably step number one.

And it's still a dog, right? So if she didn't have some dog food set aside I think chicken or... I dunno. Something we also eat should work. But not chocolate. I know chocolate isn't any good.

Good call. I think we may have some meat from the planet we were just on in storage, but if not... I'll have to trade for some from another ship. I'm sure if we're on a planet surface she'll be able to hunt on her own, but 'til then...

Can we feed the fox to it? [Seriously, they have too many pets on board, and certainly too many he didn't like. Ugh, dogs. Remy did not like dogs, it kind of went with the territory. Thieves and dogs did not mix. Though it could be worse, it could be a 'gator...]

It be a dog more or less, right? Most animals need something to keep them occupied. Could see if can train it a bit while Korra be nappin', might help distract the dog 'nd a few of us since we back travellin'. Wouldn't hurt it to know some basics if we ever have a situation where we gotta control it when she ain't 'round.

Oh... [ Hermione pauses, softening, before she nods her head. ] Naga should be easy to look after, just like a real dog. Just a bit bigger. Make sure she has food and gets some walks?

We do at least have an excellent rec room on the Wonderduck, so hopefully I can find a way to get her some exercise.

You might be able to take her to the Iskaulit? There's lots of space there.

I don't know about a polar bear, but dogs I know.

[A pair of puppy ears pop up in the video as if to illustrate the point, followed by the top of a snout getting the bottom edge of the picture all slimy. Hawke looks less than amused for a moment and leans down to remove Ser Drools from the frame and to the floor again, then wipes the camera off with a rag before continuing.]

Apparently where Korra's from, they befriend animals instead of training them, so my suggestion is just to give her plenty of space to run around in - a cargo bay should do. Definitely food and water too, and keep it clean. I'm sure you can rig some sort of poop scoop out of whatever's lying around on ship.

[He pauses, glancing back behind himself out of frame. It's clearly a med bay, though whoever is lying prone behind Adalwolfe has their face out of frame. There is, however, an orange cat tail waving back and forth at the edge of the video. He turns back to keep talking.]

Some animals don't want to leave their masters if they sense something out of the ordinary. I'd at least take her to visit Korra sometimes if you could, if not let her sleep wherever Korra is. It might help a little with the upset if Naga can see her.

Thank you, Hawke. We have all the amenities on the Wonderduck, so exercise shouldn't be a problem- and I can trade for meat from another ship if we don't have much. She's very personable, at least- but you're right, taking her to see Korra might be a good idea, too. Because they do seem to be close companions.

[Jennifer appeared to be taking notes as he spoke, though she stopped when she noticed he was in a med bay.]

I know you're busy taking care of Naga, but if you find yourself with a moment to spare at some point, he's on the Three Twins.

[ Isaac is just weirded out by all of the weird canines, okay? (Himself included). ]

I mean I kind of help take care of Newton, the fox Jade had. But all I have to do is show him bird Dave. Feathers really get him going. And socks.

I heard Korra call her that, yes. I mean, it fits- she's not quite a polar bear, but not quite a dog, either.

[Jennifer looked back at Naga, who had happily destroyed the Beartic toy and was looking at Jennifer expentantly.]

Well, Simon got a whole crate of stuffed animals, so I'll keep at that for now.

[ Isaac shrugs, looking over at Naga then to Jennifer. ] I can go running with one of the toys. Might wear her down. Better than sitting around here bored, too. I'm pretty fast.

What do you even feed a polar bear dog? Seals aren't readily available in this part of space and I don't think fox kibble is gonna cut it.
