[When Jennifer opens the feed, a very canine whine can be heard in the background, and Jennifer reaches back to soothe Naga and offer her a squeaky Flootemon toy that looks suspiciously like Beartic before speaking.]

So, uhm, does anyone know how to take care of a polar bear dog? Korra's in cryosleep, and I think Naga's feeling upset and restless without her. I've never had so much as a normal puppy before, so I don't know the first thing about dog care, much less... polar bear dog care. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I don't know about a polar bear, but dogs I know.

[A pair of puppy ears pop up in the video as if to illustrate the point, followed by the top of a snout getting the bottom edge of the picture all slimy. Hawke looks less than amused for a moment and leans down to remove Ser Drools from the frame and to the floor again, then wipes the camera off with a rag before continuing.]

Apparently where Korra's from, they befriend animals instead of training them, so my suggestion is just to give her plenty of space to run around in - a cargo bay should do. Definitely food and water too, and keep it clean. I'm sure you can rig some sort of poop scoop out of whatever's lying around on ship.

[He pauses, glancing back behind himself out of frame. It's clearly a med bay, though whoever is lying prone behind Adalwolfe has their face out of frame. There is, however, an orange cat tail waving back and forth at the edge of the video. He turns back to keep talking.]

Some animals don't want to leave their masters if they sense something out of the ordinary. I'd at least take her to visit Korra sometimes if you could, if not let her sleep wherever Korra is. It might help a little with the upset if Naga can see her.

Thank you, Hawke. We have all the amenities on the Wonderduck, so exercise shouldn't be a problem- and I can trade for meat from another ship if we don't have much. She's very personable, at least- but you're right, taking her to see Korra might be a good idea, too. Because they do seem to be close companions.

[Jennifer appeared to be taking notes as he spoke, though she stopped when she noticed he was in a med bay.]

Are you okay?

I'm alright, yes, just... well.

[He glances behind him again.]

My friend is sleeping and I can't wake him up. He also seems to be aging rapidly.

[Hawke chews his lip for a moment.]

I know you're busy taking care of Naga, but if you find yourself with a moment to spare at some point, he's on the Three Twins.

[Please come look at Anders...]

Of course, of course- I can leave her on her own for a bit. My shipmates can look after her. [And she's already gravitating towards her medbay to pack a bag.] Is he showing any other symptoms that you know of?

Only if you're sure she'll be alright without you to look after her. He looks... well it's not healthy but it's a state he's been in before and still managed while awake.

[Adalwolfe shakes his head.]

Nothing else, just aging. Occasionally he'll frown or smile or move a bit but it's more like he's dreaming than ill.

The rest of my crew is here, so we'll be fine.

[Jennifer rubbed her chin.]

Okay. I'll bring my med kit over and perform as thorough an examination as I can- this might be Atroma's going.

Probably, he's not the only one to ever experience it or so I've been told, just that he's aging more rapidly than has been seen before.

[He sighs.]

Sorry, I'm repeating myself.

[Hawke rubs his face to try and fail at looking less exhausted.]

Wrath said something about an IV? Whatever that is.

You're worried- it's perfectly understandable.

[She nodded.]

An IV is a tube that gets inserted into a person's vein, mostly to administer medication, food or fluids while the person is unconscious or bed bound. I can set one up, just in case.

I'd appreciate that.

[He's not sure Anders would but Anders is currently asleep and doesn't get a say in the matter, especially since he stinks at taking care of himself even while awake.]

I'll be right over, then. Which ship are you on?

Three Twins. Please, hurry.

Okay. I'll do everything I can for him.

[Hawke paces. He knows he should wait for Jennifer in the hangar, but he still can't bring himself to leave Anders' side, even if the changes are gradual - if faster than normal aging - and there's nothing he can do about them. He knows he's being stupid, but there's no helping it. He's been called stupid before, why not just play to character?

So he waits for Jennifer's arrival, pacing a grove in the floor.]

[Jennifer hadn't been on the Three Twins before, but it wasn't long before she found Hawke, and the prone form of his friend. She had a rather sizeable med kit with her, not knowing if the ship had an infirmary, but luckily, it did, and she began gathering together all the equipment she needed as she spoke.]

Hey. How long as he been like this?

A few days. Approaching a week.

[He stands stiffly off to the side, arms folded in a closed off posture. He'll mostly just stay out of the way unless she asks him for a hand.]

If his body is reflecting new memories, then I can tell you that he developed a very bad habit of not eating or sleeping properly, which is why he looks like that.

[Jennifer felt Anders' pulse before reaching for her stethoscope to listen to his breathing.]

He definitely looks malnourished just from what I can see... his pulse and lungs feel pretty normal, though, at least. And you haven't been able to wake him up at all, correct? Has he moved or changed position at all that you've seen?

Once or twice, but no more than that. And no, I can't wake him.

[He'd tried, at first, even going so far as to put his hand against Anders' cheek to see if he would stir. He couldn't go as far as slapping him, but he's 99% certain that wouldn't work either.]

[Jennifer nodded as she brought all of the medbay's instruments around, first starting a brain scan.]

And this happened suddenly? He wasn't injured or anything, he just... fell asleep?

[She's putting a machine over Anders' head and the first thing Adalwolfe wants to do is protest. She knows what she's doing, he reasons, and she wants to help, but he can't help the crawling feeling in the pit of his stomach at all these strange devices being used on the unconscious mage.]

I wasn't here, I don't know. I don't think he was injured though. I found him in here when I came to visit, already on the bed. I looked him over then but didn't try to wake him until later. He gets so little sleep normally, I thought he'd needed it, but now...

[He runs a hand back through his hair, worrying at his lower lip.]

[Jennifer nodded as she watched the brain scan, before noticing Adawolfe's nervousness. Of course, she thought- he probably didn't have anything like this back home. Once the scan was done, she wheeled the machine away.]

But now he's been out for too long. The brain scan is showing minimal brain function- like he's sleeping, but not dreaming. So far there's no evidence of injury or anything wrong inside his body at all... [She frowned, reaching out to touch Anders' augment lightly, before pulling her hand back as though scalded. Still the same reaction as usual to any augment interference.] I'm guessing this is Atroma's doing because of that. Either way, I can set him up on an IV so he gets fluids, like I mentioned- and I can show you how to change the bag, or I can come back to do it myself if don't feel comfortable with that.

I'm not sure if we dream here normally anyway. I don't feel there's a connection to the Fade, or if there is one, I can't find it. That could be the cause for any strange readings...

[He sounds doubtful though. Minimal brain function sounds awful when said aloud all ominously like that. Less than minimal and he assume that means dead. He doesn't like Anders being anywhere close to that.]

No, I can do it. Please show me.

[Jennifer nodded.]

That might be something to discuss with others from your world, though- just to make sure. I think we're pretty cut off, though. [She smiled then, though, and beckoned him over.] I'll walk you through it, then. And be sure to let me know the second anything changes.
