[When Jennifer opens the feed, a very canine whine can be heard in the background, and Jennifer reaches back to soothe Naga and offer her a squeaky Flootemon toy that looks suspiciously like Beartic before speaking.]

So, uhm, does anyone know how to take care of a polar bear dog? Korra's in cryosleep, and I think Naga's feeling upset and restless without her. I've never had so much as a normal puppy before, so I don't know the first thing about dog care, much less... polar bear dog care. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Oh ah, that is a bit difficult. I've never even had a dog either.

Um. I think you should put some newspaper on the floor? [That's a dog thing, right?]

Hmm, I don't have any newspaper. That's a good idea, though- doing something for a potty, especially since we don't know when we're going to land on another planet.

Yeah, everything has to use the toilet eventually and if you want to avoid a mess that's probably step number one.

And it's still a dog, right? So if she didn't have some dog food set aside I think chicken or... I dunno. Something we also eat should work. But not chocolate. I know chocolate isn't any good.

Good call. I think we may have some meat from the planet we were just on in storage, but if not... I'll have to trade for some from another ship. I'm sure if we're on a planet surface she'll be able to hunt on her own, but 'til then...

That is good. And if you get low try giving Sokka some puppy dog eyes. [That choice of words being very intentional.] He usually keeps a well stocked kitchen. And I think Korra is from his world.

Oh, that's right- Sokka is quite fond of having meat for dinner. And oh, is he? I'll have to get in touch with him, then- he may know more about this than anyone.

I think so? I know he he's friends with an avatar on his world and Korra is one too, isn't she?

[He's pretty sure he's seen that mentioned in some of the open communications at least.]

I'm not quite sure I understand what an Avatar is, but I've heard her mention it before.

From what I've gathered and understood from my time here so far, it has something to do with elements. I think controlling them; just don't ask me how. I just know some people on Sokka's world can and some can't.

Whoa... [Jennifer looked impressed at that.] Sounds like a big responsibility. I come from a world where superpowers are nonexistent, so it's a bit hard for me to wrap my head around sometimes.

Yeah, we don't have anything quite like it at home either. [Things that could be considered superpower? Yes. Elemental control? No. So far as he's aware.]

Sounds like it could be useful... but also destructive in the wrong hands. Or even in the hands of someone without much experience.

That's true. I wonder if babies can control elements or if it turns up later in life.

[He notes that something to ask Sokka about sometime.]

Oh, gosh, can you imagine being the parent of a kid who can control water? Especially at bath time.

Haha! Yeah! If the kid doesn't want to take a bath and keeps moving the bath water? I wonder how they'd manage.

They'd be lethal in winter, too.

Oh yeah! Snow is frozen water! I'd definitely want to be on their team in a snowball fight!

Or when playing hockey. It'd probably be considered an unfair advantage.

I haven't played hockey before. Do you throw snow or water at each other?

It's a game played by skating on a frozen lake or an ice rink. You carry long sticks and try to knock a puck into the opponent's goal. If you could manipulate water, it'd be easy to knock the puck around or trip your opponents.

I see what you mean. Although, I wonder if everyone playing can control water what happens if they all try to control the same water.

I wonder if the winner is decided by whatever team manages to get one point.

Or whoever is the driest and least-injured at the end.

Yeah, winning doesn't sound very appealing if you're injured to get it.
