[ The video feed shakes, the audio cracking as the communicator is moved around. The broadcasting image so far is the floor, covered in multicolored confetti, and a pair of black and grey running sneakers in view. The left foot taps impatiently before the video swings again to the bridge of the Bloodsport. ]

[ There is a sigh before heavily accented voice accompanies the shoddy cameraman-ship. ] If this is someone's idea of a prank, it lacks humor.

[ The communicator finally turns around, and Pietro is very firmly not happy with this situation. ]

I have complaints.

[ SS Bloodsport;; ]
[ Pietro can be found in various places throughout the Bloodsport. In the kitchen, trying to figure out what the deal with protein paste is. The bridge offers a bit of a distraction with the endless sea of stars or the array of broadcast settings, and how can he resist settling into the bunks? It's been a very long time since he's had his own room. ]

Surprise abduction, yes. Being in space, especially so.

[ He grins. ] Space is very beautiful, isn't it?

It has it's charms. [She tilts her head slightly wondering if he's flirting with her which he can't be because that's way too weird. He's Erik's son and dating Ororo and just...weird. So definitely just into space.] Space, not so much the abductions. [Although when they save your life it's a definite perk.]

You didn't give your name, you know. Now you can be all, "Hi Kitty" and all I've got is, "Hi person who looks like you."

[ Why can't it be both? It's totally both. ]

How rude of me. I'm Pietro Maximoff.

[ And heck, they can bond over not being able to go back home because of death after he finds out! ]

Yeah... I figured. [She expected it and yet somehow still thought something else would come out. It's not like she hasn't seen familiar people who weren't the person she was expecting before. Like Mal from the prison and Castle here.]

[ It's always bizarre, expecting one thing and having the opposite happen. Like trying to fit the edge piece of a jigsaw into the middle bits. ]

Now we are very much acquainted. Which ship are you assigned to, Kitty?

[She notices he doesn't ask about the boss title. Probably just thinks it's her manner of speech. She decides to go on for now. He clearly doesn't remember her but she has so many questions.] The Windrose. What about you?

[ Maybe it's just a really cool nickname the other Quicksilver gets, he doesn't know your life! ]

The Bloodsport.

[You wish.]

Oh, yeah, I know some people there. [Like Sascha and Nami.]

So, who's leading the X-Men where you're from? [She does know the Wanda here and that maybe should have been enough to make her think this question skipped too many steps, but in her mind Wanda is still the anomaly.]

[ Sascha is really weird and apparently just wants to be affectionate with people..

Pietro blinks at her. ] The..X-Men?

[She wasn't expecting that reaction. Even if he hadn't been an X-Man wouldn't he know about them?] ...You've never heard of the X-Men? A team of mutants.

There are the Avengers, but they're not mutated. Maybe Banner?

[ Though he doesn't know if that would be mutant-material. Does she mean Enhanced? As far as he knows, it's just him and Wanda.. ]

What? No, I...

[Trailing off as realization sets in. She's had this confusion before after all.]

Did you get your powers from an experiment?

Experiments, yes.

[ They were awful and nightmare fuel, but they were also good in a way. It made him closer to his sister. The powers were to help them liberate their country. Or at least that's what they were led to believe. ]

The Pietro Maximoff in my world is a mutant like me, so is Wanda. [Managing not to use past tense.] I was surprised to hear that was a difference between worlds. [Back when Wanda told her and the powers sounded similar enough that she thinks maybe the experiment just brought out their latent mutant abilities rather than giving them something new.]

[ As far as either of them know, it was only due to the experimenting. No one really understands their powers. ]

So these mutants.. You were born like this, or made?

Born. Powers usually come out at puberty. They did for me. There's an X-gene that sets it off. It can run in families [like it did for you] or occur spontaneously like it did for me.

There's no Avengers in my world, but Vision told me about them. He's my captain here.

I have heard that there are altered states. I suppose this is one of them. You said the X-Men are a group of mutants?

[ It does sound nice, having a group of people like he and Wanda. He's only mildly curious how life is for them. Being born with abilities as opposed to signing up with a neo-Nazi organization to obtain them. ]

There must be a great deal of you.

That's right.

[Less every day.] Depends what you mean by a great deal. It's rare compared to not being a mutant. [Although genocide was shifting that balance too.] But there were enough of us that we were broken up into smaller teams from the whole.

More than a handful, then. Goodness. I believe normal people will outnumber those of us with different abilities.

[ Really, he's unbothered by it. Though, he was made, not born. There's a vast difference. But there are teams of these mutants in another world. The idea is alluring, at least. ]

They usually do. We're a kind of normal though. [Yes? No? Maybe?] Or at least it feels that way when everyone you know is moving faster than you can see or controlling the weather or metal or reading minds.

I think I would like to be a part of something like that very much. There is not a lot of call for it where I am from, though.

But you're an Avenger, right? It sounds similar from what I've heard.

Honorary Avenger, perhaps. It's quite recent.
