004 - My Funny Valentine

[Okay, so the date's wrong, but Sokka in his hyperactive state didn't pay much attention to the details anyway. What was important to him, was that there was a celebration honouring the one you loved and that needed to be addressed.

So, he waves excitedly at the camera, trying to focus it on...an odd 'statue' in the cargo bay of the Blue Fish. He'd considered putting it together on one of the moons, but that would have just been weird, so in the ship he went. It doesn't really look like anything, except for a weird blob made of of bits of melted metal. For some reason, it's holding a fan.]

HEY GUYS!!! I know that Vahl-in-tynes thing is ...soon? Soon! So I made this statue for the lady of my heart, Suki!

[It doesn't look like a lady. It doesn't even look human.]

So Suki is a pretty awesome gal. She kicks butt all the time, and usually does it with just a fan, isn't that amazing? She's part of this all girls warrior group and she could kick all your butts with her hands tied behind her back. AND she's beautiful and smart to boot!

[He winks at the camera] Baby, I know you can't see this, but I miss you and I really hope you're okay, I'll be back before you know it.

It really is nice to see you're thinking of the girl you like, even if you're separated right now.

Well, yeah. I think it'd be pretty weird for me not to think about her.

Okay. So...Senel's kind, and honest, and he works hard once you get him to wake up. Some of the townspeople even treat him like a sheriff these days.

Yeah? Well, that's good. Every town needs a hero to look out for them.

Yeah. You could say we have a few, but Senel's the one who's always there.

He knows where his heart belongs, right?

I never thought about it that way, but...that may be it, after all.

It'll be nice to talk with him again when I return home...I bet that goes for you and Suki too, doesn't it?

Yeah. A big one. We were right in the middle of the final battle when Atroma pulled me in.

Oh, no. That's awful! I...hope she's all right.

[If anything happens to her, it'll be his fault. ]

Is there anyone else with her?

[Shirley's used to traveling with a half-dozen people now and in that case they'd be fine without her...but generally that isn't the norm.]

No. We were surrounded by enemy soldiers, in an airship. Everyone else is way too far away to help.

That's...difficult.

[Not that he won't have thought of that before.]

But you said she was a good fighter, didn't she? So...

People can be very hardy when they need to be. I had a friend who made it all the way out of town to the forest, ignoring her illness and battling monsters, just so she could find something important to her.

[Of course they had to find her to stop her from dying of the poison she was ignoring, but it was still impressive to see how far she'd gotten in that state.]
