[ So by now at least some people should be aware that Sascha isn't...him. Sam's made sure of that. But luckily it actually wasn't too hard to round him up? Really all that happened was Kara asking and him agreeing to "stay put" until it either wore off or they figured something out. It's not like he has any plans to be anywhere, and worst case scenario? He can just outlive them all if worse comes to worst.

Being under house arrest in a lecture hall isn't really that bad. He gets to keep the lights off at all times, every now and again they have someone bring meat in... It's actually rather peaceful. Dull, mind you--but very peaceful.

He's the perfect model prisoner! So the question is...do you dare visit? ]

[She turns away, not wanting him to see as if he could.] Save it.

[Winn's miserable. She's miserable. Now Sascha can be miserable. Mission accomplished? She starts walking away. She doesn't want this anymore. She just wants to check on Winn who would probably be upset she did this at all.]

[pneumo]

[ He shouldn't try to stop her, but he does. He should just let her go, he knows she won't stick around just because he wants her to.

But the Sheol still tries to reach out and take hold of her hand regardless. ]

[There is a flicker of solid touch but it's gone in an instant as his hand passes through her. But she turns toward him, eyes narrowed.] What? What are you going to do to make this better?

[The words start angry, but by the end they just sounds sad and lost because she can't think of anything. Even if he becomes Sascha again none of this will be his fault, but Winn is probably still going to be scared and threatened and it's not going to be the same.]

[pneumo]

I don't....know. Anything. I would do anything to try and fix... [ he trails off, because he knows it isn't that simple. They both know, and he lets his hand fall back to his side as he hangs his head. ]

I don't know what to do. [ he finishes lamely, shoulders hung. ] All I seem capable of doing is pushing away the people he loves most. It would have been better for me to have never remembered.

I don't know what to do either. [Part of her wants to console him. Assure him that he's worth more than that. But the words don't come. She won't let them. Not when she's this emotionally charged up. She hurts for Winn. For what she's watching him go for. She's mad at herself for what she didn't stop sooner. She feels betrayed by another person she cared about. Even though this man is mostly a stranger to her, she accepted him.]

[pneumo]

Just please don't....think of me as Sascha. I am not the same person who met and wished for your friendship. He's not... [ He struggles to find the words, because it's him but so very much not. Sascha is memories and memories of feelings. A different person. He's a different person. ]

He would never have done what I have. He doesn't even eat on his own, he would never have... That was--me. [ Don't blame Sascha for that. It'll crush him, and it was the Sheol's instincts which drove him to hunt the smell of fear. ]

I'm not mad [hurt, betrayed] at Sascha. I'm mad at [myself] you. [A person she'd only spoken to once before now. A person she cared about because of Sascha, but who she did try to see as a separate—or rather more complete—person. His own person. A person she trusted when she shouldn't have. Story of her life. And if she keeps doing it the only person she has to blame is herself.]

[pneumo]

Good. [ He deserves it, because without Sascha's memories and all those that came before him the Sheol wouldn't feel guilty for what he'd done at all. It would have been business as usual, and he would have killed and eaten Winn. And that knowledge is eating him up inside even as he struggles both to hold onto that feeling and dismiss it entirely as irrational. ]

I should go. [Not because she wants to punish him by leaving but because she's afraid of saying more things she won't be able to take back when—if—just Sascha comes back.]
