Politics. There's a side of human supremacism, but that has more to do with who gets in command than anything else. That said, even being loosely connected to someone with the "wrong" politics can be a death sentence--like, living on the same planet.

How did you get out?

We'd taken a Resistance pilot as a prisoner, so I broke him out and we escaped together.

And Kitty hasn't seen the movie. Though she should because it's amazing.]video; encrypted
Poe, actually. Didn't meet Rey till the ship we stole crash-landed on her planet and I got lost.

So... Are you a clone? [Omg, Kitty. You can't just ask people if they're clones.]

[He shakes his head.] Hux actually argued against clones - said it was better to use soldiers conditioned from birth. There hasn't been a sizeable clone army since General Kenobi's time. Too costly.

I was taken from a family I'll never know. The First Order was the only life I had.

[Finn, bb. His parents...did they give him up willingly? Did they fight for him? Were they killed like hers were? Did they even know it was happening before it was too late?]
I'm sorry.

It's what happened. No way to change it. All I can do is move forward now.

[Trying to shake the worried look she knows she's giving him.]
Is there any way to track them down? [Apparently she still wants to move backward.]

I don't know if the First Order would keep that kind of thing in their records or not. Why would they?

Even if they do, it's not the kind of thing you can exactly waltz up and ask them about when the biggest thing on your file is traitor.

Have to infiltrate a base again, and find out where they're kept. It's not like here, where most things are just on the network. Be too easy for an enemy to take remote control of a ship that way. Data's stored locally and sometimes hard copy only.
[That's the whole reason a single piece of data BB-8 took had started Finn's whole adventure.]

Are there any space nazis here who might know? We could persuade them.

If Hux knows, he's not telling unless he gets something about it.

I'm not going to stoop down to their level. And, look, I appreciate the thought, but even if there is that kind of record? All figuring out who they are would accomplish would be to put my price on their heads. If they're not already dead.

It's one of those things I just gotta live with.
But--it's okay. Really. I can always make a new family.
