[Oh hey! Someone's talking to him! He'll stop what he's doing and turn to smile at Obi-wan like he's TOTALLY INNOCENT]

Oh hey Obi-wan! What's up?

[ Faintly wryly. ]

Nothing much, just contemplating futility. Dare I ask what the machine did to deserve such treatment?

[notzubats]

[Sora, being Sora, has no idea what futility means so he's just gonna assume it's some Jedi philosophy thing. Sure.]

Not much. Just apparently it's been making weird klunky noises- so I was trying to fix it!

[By making it even worse]

[beardstrokes]

Perhaps we should take a better look at it before we destroy it.

[ Humour him. ]

[notzubats]

You think so?

Well, okay. [Obi-wan is pretty smart and all. He lowers the wrench. FOR NOW.] You know anything 'bout washers?

[beardstrokes]

I'm not a terrible mechanic. Thankfully.

[ Like many of the skills Obi-Wan has accumulated, he doesn't care for them but he maintains his standards. With Anakin around, he rarely bothers but Obi-Wan isn't too shabby.

Carefully, he pries over the wiring panel to take a look. ]

[notzubats]

Really? Good.

[Better than him. Sora will kneel down next to him and watch. The wiring looks mostly okay, though there looks to be a couple loose ones and another one looking a bit frayed. That's probably the one causing the original problem]

[beardstrokes]

[ He traces them with a finger before pulling them out. ]

These would probably have to be replaced. Once that's done, it should work just fine.

[notzubats]

That's it?

[He rubs his head. That seems...easy? No hitting things at all? Weird.]

Well that's easy...I think Savvy might even have wires.

[beardstrokes]

Or spirit. I doubt Moxie would have anything to help with wiring.

[ He straightens himself slightly. ]

What made you think hitting it would work?

[ It does work sometimes so Obi-Wan won't dismiss the method. But he's curious all the same. ]

Fine by me, Moxie's a bit rough for my liking.

[And at that question...he looks sheepish]

Ha, well...it was making a klunk sound, so I thought maybe something got out of place? So I thought maybe if I hit it...it could go...back in place?

[beardstrokes]

Well. I suppose you're not wrong.

[ He graces Sora with a genuine smile. ] But maybe we can check the inside first before we try to hit things back into place.

[notzubats]

[He rubs the back of his neck]

Heh, okay okay- no more hitting things until I look inside.

[beardstrokes]

Splendid.

[ He claps Sora on the shoulder. ] How are you otherwise?

[notzubats]

[He looks up at Obi-wan with a smile]

Me? I'm alright! I like seeing all the new people on board.

What about you?

[beardstrokes]

It has gotten a lot more lively.

[ He's not sure how he feels about that. ]

I'm all right. Keeping busy.

[notzubats]

Yeah? Keeping busy how?

[beardstrokes]

Jedi business for the most part. There's no rest involved.

[ Even though it's easier than, say, being in a warzone and Obi-Wan has stepped back a great deal, he still is a Jedi Master and considered an authority.

Most days, he'd like to trade it for something else. Like janitor. ]
