Ow, for futz sake -- [ the feed is shaky, at first -- as though the device and its owner has just fallen from some middling height. but it soon settles steady on an image of kate bishop -- bruised, dirty, but ultimately fine. although she's stubbornly wearing purples more often alligned with the spirit faction, she has alligned herself quite naturally with moxie -- deigning to at least braid white and gold ribbons into her black hair. sitting up on the poorly terra-formed ground, the feed reveals she's dressed in a superbly tailored hawkeye costume made from strong fabrics and flattering lines.

over her shoulder looms lavandula's tower. the intrepid young avenger followed the trills of a mysterious and now finds she herself thoroughtly defeated by the tower's bizarre internal architecture. this isn't the first time she's taken a tumble.

grumpily: ] This place is worse than a funhouse. [ ... ] Paging any and all Fleet folk -- anyone manage to track down this freaky-deaky flute music on Lavandula? All I'm finding are doors shut in my face. Not loving it.

[ LATER, she's back at the rehabilitation centre. she pays her modest fee and gets herself patched up -- bandages and all. so, once she takes a shuttle back to the iskaulit and shows up for work at málum, she's still looking a little worse for wear. take pity on her, málum patrons, because her usual bartender flair is suddenly subdued: she's got one arm in a sling. she'll still serve you, though. and with a smile! ...probably. ]

[ there is a hidden bitterness there. of course he didn't, music was always dante's big talent that always overshadowed his own ]

[ pointing to her injuries ]

I find it terrifying but knowing you, you'll probably think it's awesome.

[ maybe she can embarrass him into telling her. ]

[ watch as she does as she's asked and raises a pinkie. ]

Nah, the pinkie is sacred enough.

[ nothing stronger than a pinkie promise ]

Just come to the lab once you're here, I'll show it to you.

[ so it's a long day. she spends time getting her arm set in a sling before she sets foot back on the blameless. and even then, she takes a pit-stop to change out of the hawkeye-esque costume winn had made for her. but, in time, she strolls into the lab. ]

Nah, you're good. I was actually trying to figure out if I got it right.

[ it's a problem when he doesn't exactly know how fast Zoom moves. Fater than Barry is one thing but as he never saw that thing reach its limits, it's hard to tell the exact data.

he does know the Velocity-9 Caitlin talked about made him sick enough to be slowly killing him but he doesn't know how fast he was before or how fast he really is.

it irks him more than a bit to be held back by Jay's lays. Zoom's. Whoever the guy really is. he gets up starts pacing ]

ok so. it's not really the final version and I can only try to use it for so long without warning everyone so they won't get a heart attack but -

[ he goes over to turn on the hologram. it's a good thing Cisco has an eye for other speedster's suits and little details because that means he could add them onto Zoom's hologram that stands tall in the middle of the room, a figure in black, even the eyes seem far from human.

even though Cisco created him, it gives him the creeps.

He got this idea, creepily enough, from Thawne's time remnant and while this is hardly as real, it serves its purpose. ]

Meet Zoom. My earth's current mega-creepy-psychotic-speedster.

[ kate leans her hip against a lab-counter -- arms crossed and casual while she waits for the demonstration. but when the hologram switches on, she's met with a sight which is truly disturbing. the horror-movie 'mouth', the crackle of electricity, and the grotesque black molding. it makes kate stand up a little straighter.

she isn't afraid. but she's on edge. ] The speedsters I'm used to are usually way cuter than that. [ kate's nose crinkles. ]

Why'd you make him? It?

Well -

[ he presses the button, makes the hologram literally zoom around the room, leaving behind its trademark pale blue glow as it does. it might take a minute to actually see it moving. ]

this is his estimated speed.

[ he talks as it moves, tries not to look at it ]

But there's a chance he might actually be faster. I figured if we can train against it, it might prepare us for the real deal, if the Atroma ever feel like a psycho speedster is exactly what this fleet needs.

[ -- she turns her head. fast, but not fast enough. kate has fought alongisde tommy often enough to know better than to try to track superhuman speed with her own eyes. but she tries anyway, and finds herself surprised by the cool blue electricity. ]

What -- 'we'? As in us?

[ there's a flicker of anticipation. this is her jam. ]

Girl, I can't do it alone. I mean, freezing cold will work for a while but not for too long, speaking from experience.

[ he still remembers Zoom overcoming Killer Frost. ]

You're a superhero. imma need help. we have to figure out what to do with this guy. We don't have the Flash to help us, we gotta fight speed with something else.

[ -- kate smiles. she shouldn't be so excited, but she is. the prospect is a little heady, especially since (for now) there isn't any real danger posed to anyone. ]

Okay. Count me in. This is a nut I wouldn't mind helping you crack.

[ ... ]

Oh my God, see I knew you'd think this is fun. Does nobody but me find this terrifying?
