It's been a few days since Katie and Max recovered her from the avalanche she unwittingly started. It has taken that time for her to feel like she's back in the land of the living and not teetering on some cold abyssal edge; she's still sore, her movements careful and ginger, but she's got her wits about her and she's never been so happy to be warm again. While the ship isn't anywhere near the scorching temperatures she experienced back home, in relation to the burning cold she just dealt with she's grateful for a secure, safe environment.

She's also grateful for the outpouring of help and friendship, evidenced in the aftermath with Max and Tyrion's posts to the network. She wouldn't normally go out of her way to make such a public statement, but she recognizes the effort that went in to finding her, even outside of the one who was finally successful.

The video feed opens to a view of her in her bunk. She's still recovering, continuing to let Tyrion have control of the ship until she's sure she'll be able to handle it (and, perhaps, get a replacement arm for the one she lost in her foolishness). Her face is worn, and craggy from her bout with the elements, but she looks happy, hopeful.]

So you took a nap too, huh? Wow, maybe it really was an epidemic.

[Not so much a nap as 'no one told me you shouldn't yell in snowy mountain regions' but she's not too keen on correcting him.]

Perhaps. Did you at least enjoy your nap?

For the most part. It was an exciting three years to say the least.

Three years? [Whatever he went through, she certainly didn't share the experience.] I didn't think I was out that long.

Hmm, that's what I felt like, though I was told it was only two weeks here. But no, definitely three years. I'm thirty now.

Thirty. That's quite an accomplishment.

[She does sound impressed, but then again, she lives in a place where a strong portion of the population are called half-lives.]

So you fell into a coma, and experienced three years in two weeks. I guess this is like how some people come from different points in time?

It must be. Time travel is very head-ache inducing like that. But I suppose it's a good thing, otherwise my muscles would be very atrophied and I do not like physical therapy.

Well, welcome back. Have you been to the planet, yet?

Once or twice. Mostly in the markets on Moxie, and did a bit of running around on Savvy's holdings. I'm glad my body didn't lose to much shape being in bed for two weeks.

What about yourself?

Ran a few jobs for Savvy. Wound up getting attacked by snow in the mountains. Didn't know avalanches were a thing.

Oh, yeah, you would never have seen snow before, would you?

I did once, shortly after I joined the Fleet, but I hadn't spent much time out in it. Max and I went trekking through the mountains and, well. I won't be too eager to do that again.

What happened?

Avalanche. [He doesn't need to know she caused it with her ignorance of how snow works.] My prosthetic had locked up, I took off my coat to remove it, and, that's when it hit.

[She's looking off into space as she thinks back on it.] I've never been so cold in my life. I had no idea what to do.

Keep moving if you can, and layer up. If you can't move and someone is with you, bundle together for body warmth.

Between you and me, I hate the cold - or snow planets in general.

Thanks for the advice, here's hoping I don't have to use it.

I sincerely hope you don't. I hate ice planets, so you and I can stay far away from them the next time we drop by one.
