It's been a few days since Katie and Max recovered her from the avalanche she unwittingly started. It has taken that time for her to feel like she's back in the land of the living and not teetering on some cold abyssal edge; she's still sore, her movements careful and ginger, but she's got her wits about her and she's never been so happy to be warm again. While the ship isn't anywhere near the scorching temperatures she experienced back home, in relation to the burning cold she just dealt with she's grateful for a secure, safe environment.

She's also grateful for the outpouring of help and friendship, evidenced in the aftermath with Max and Tyrion's posts to the network. She wouldn't normally go out of her way to make such a public statement, but she recognizes the effort that went in to finding her, even outside of the one who was finally successful.

The video feed opens to a view of her in her bunk. She's still recovering, continuing to let Tyrion have control of the ship until she's sure she'll be able to handle it (and, perhaps, get a replacement arm for the one she lost in her foolishness). Her face is worn, and craggy from her bout with the elements, but she looks happy, hopeful.]

[Now, Tyrion's eyebrows lifted in interest.]

Actually ... I've had some, what is that phrase? On the job training. A young man named Hiro had a number of us engineers come in and consult on rebuilding an arm rather like yours.

Is that so? Then you're exactly the man for the job. [It was handy having someone so adept with scrap on the ship. She'd been impressed with his firearm work and had ever confidence he'd be able to put something together for her. She was also greatly relieved that he agreed to help her. Again, it stirred up no small amount of wonder to how far their friendship had come.]

I should probably tell you my kill switch sequence.

[Not that it made a whole lot of sense on a ship that the Atroma could control, but she hoped it would be a deterrent if any other ship captains tried to take control of it.]

That is so. I have learned a great deal about engineering from that. So your arm shouldn't be a problem.

[And now ...

Amusement flashed over his face.]

I am absolutely not surprised -- and this will par with the question that I was going to ask you - might I have permission to try to backwards engineer the signal that broadcasted through when we were out of communication? I want to try and see if I can track who precisely was shielding us.

[Furiosa looks over at him with interest.] Yes. Do that, and keep me updated. I want to know who's on our tail.

As you order, Captain. [He tipped his head in a faint bow, giving her a smirk.]

You were the one that suggested it. I'm just agreeing; it's a good track to follow. If you're capable of figuring it out, do it. Don't let me stop you.

Well yes, but I am going to be amused that you are still in command, Captain. [Yeah, he's grinning now, but it shifts to a thoughtful look.]

I think it is possible - but I shall have to do more reading.

You can take the Imperator out of the Wastelands ... [It leaves a thoughtful expression on her face, that she hasn't been able to shake that part of her life.]

Whatever you're able to do, let me know

Well, all things considered ... I am glad to have you with us. In any form.

[He nods his head, marking that on his list.] I shall let you know.

[She looks at him with a soft expression, and smiles.]

Me too. I'm glad to know I've got someone I can count on here.

[His smile was actually gentle in turn, if not crooked. That was simply his way.]

As am I. I have your back, Furiosa. No matter the cost.

I was definitely wrong about you.

Furiosa, that is the nicest thing you have ever said to me ... I rather wish I had recorded it. [His mis-matched eyes flash amusement, and warmth.]

[She chuckles,] I'll leave you a voice recording sometime. You can listen to it when you can't sleep.

Ah, the dulcet tones of Furiosa, wafting me to sleep. I shall hold you to that.

Never thought I'd hear a word like that being used to describe me. You're going to damage my reputation.

I assure you, you will be feared no matter where you go. You are simply too tough.

Guess I should be glad for that.

Well it will certainly keep your crew safe.

Then that's all it needs to do.

[All her crew, including Tyrion.]

Don't worry, I know you'll keep us safe.

[His voice softens, before he nodded his head once.]

[She pauses for a moment, before frowning slightly. She hadn't really been this ... close? With someone this talkative.]

You know, I have to admit. Safe was never really an objective of mine until recently.

You know, safe was something of an ... interesting option for me as well. I cannot remember a time when I was safe, not entirely. Just ...drunkenly oblivious.

[He snorted softly.]

I thought I was when I was little. It proved to be ... just an illusion. [She was taken, and the Green Place was poisoned; perhaps as safe as a place could have been in her world, but not long-lived. Not like this.]

I believe when we are little, we are given the comfort of the illusion. It is sad to know that it can be torn away. Better for it to be gently tugged loose. However ... it does mean that when you have the ability you know how to make others feel safe.
