Dramatic Entry

The cameras were undoubtedly broadcasting this dramatic arrival to the galaxy. In addition to the open network feed aboard the Marsiva, Kylo's personal communicator got switched on - offering a Blair Witch-style view of a ratings-boosting scuffle.

He was supposed to wake up on the hospitality deck. But Force have mercy, Kylo came to while the robotic assistants were patching up the injuries he sustained on Starkiller Base. Of course, that's when the fight began. Sparks flew. Weapons were improvised. Panicked screams of "what have you done to me?" echoed in the medbay. There was so much going on that words were hard to make out, but some likely heard "I will not be captured by the Resistance!" or "Give me back my lightsaber!" That alone was enough context for some to know exactly who had just arrived in the fleet.

Eventually, though, the robots won. Kylo Ren was sedated again. His injuries were repaired as quickly as possible (they would scar), and he was left to wake up - not in a comfortable bunk, but on the floor of a locked and heavily-barricaded supply closet.


Action:

If anyone is interested in wandering by in person, the closet has a window to the hallway. Be prepared to be greeted by sights and sounds of someone throwing a temper tantrum at the metal walls with whatever janitorial supplies the robots keep in there.

As a joke, there's also a sign hanging from the knob that says 'Don't Feed the Bears.'

If you'd rather send Kylo Ren a message, his communicator is still on and broadcasting. As enraged as he is, he hasn't even noticed that it's there.

He didn't realize anyone could see his arrival. Nothing about this place had been explained to him yet. But her question did make sense. This was a video feed and from what he remembered of the last battle...

Kylo tentatively put a hand to his face. Immediately, he felt the rough outline of a scar that went across his cheek, past his chin, and down his shoulder.

"A scavenger girl who had no right being as strong in the Force as she was!"

The absence of his weapons was even more disappointing. His next reply was just as much a question as it was a statement.

"... You're a prisoner too."

"That's right. Everyone you talk to here is a prisoner too. You're slightly more prisoner-y at the moment since you can't leave the Marsiva until they assign you another ship in the fleet."

Force. Lightsabers. The words ring bells and make her think of Leia and Luke who aren't here anymore and Obi-Wan and Finn who are. She knows a little about their world, but they're from different times and it's a lot to keep straight when it's all new to you and there are plenty of other people around with their own worlds and keywords and politics. So, maybe it's not so surprising when she asks, "You're a jedi?"

Names like the Marsiva didn't make much sense yet. Soon enough, Kylo would be in her shoes, just trying to keep everything straight. But for now, he was locked in a closet with this communicator. And when she called him a Jedi...

"I am the Master of the Knights of Ren." he scoffed spitefully. "I kill Jedi!"

(Kylo Ren, ladies and gentlemen. Absolutely no clue how to win friends and/or influence people.)

"So, you would be from the dark side I've heard about. That's not going to work for me or most of us here. Maybe you should try not killing Jedi and see how that feels."

Playful wording but her expression is harder then before. Less forgiving.

He narrowed his eyes. "Really. You know some personally?"

[passingthrough]

"I do. Would you like their names and addresses and a list of their weaknesses?"

[forcefullyunstable]

"Why don't we start with names. I'm quite familiar with their weaknesses. Because I left them behind!"

[passingthrough]

"How about you start with trying to learn something about your current situation. Get some perspective. Realize there are common causes. A common enemy. And that it's not good for anyone if we're fighting each other."

"My current situation involves a kriffing supply closet!" he shouted back.

Never mind that if he was the Jedi killer he was claiming, that shouldn't have contained the likes of him. But right now, the Force was frustratingly eluding him. And that was a far bigger problem than his missing lightsaber or whatever their common enemy might be.

She isn't sure how to respond to that, but she stay calm in the face of his anger, actually, it may be making her even more calm somehow like she needs to balance it out.

"...It...what? Is the dark side really against supply closets because Luke never mentioned that."

"I mean I'm in one!" he froze again, immediately screaming, "You're harboring Skywalker?! Where is he?!"

"Well, you're not much of a supply."

Pausing. "You are really high strung. I'm not harboring anyone. He wasn't in hiding, and he's not even here anymore. Luke's also a great guy." So back off even if you aren't a threat to him with him being gone and what not.

"He's been in hiding for years!" Kylo scoffed, but yet again, it appeared Skywalker had eluded him.

And that first part - he wasn't even going to justify that with a response.

"And we're right back to the beginning. You not being helpful!"

Finn said something like that when he arrived. Similar time period then?

"I'm not being..." Are you serious with this?

"You're yelling and telling me you want to kill friends of mine, and you think this entitles you to me being helpful? It's like you don't know how to be a person." Actually...

"Did they take you as a little kid?" Finn told her that's how it was for the...what was it Thundertroopers?

"I am apprentice to the Supreme Leader himself, commander and enforcer of the First Order. Your 'friends' are enemies of the First Order, and you would be wise to rethink your allegiances!"

Kylo Ren knew how to intimidate, and it was how he got his way. (Granted, usually he was masked and not locked in a supply closet with powers muted to the point that he couldn't get himself out...)

His next question was a little calmer. "...What's that got to with anything?"

The First Order. That would be the 'space nazis' she heard about. Not a fan of nazis. "It might explain your charming disposition. Even if it doesn't excuse it."

He almost laughed at that. "It would have been better if they did. But the Supreme Leader was wise. It was right to let my hate flourish until I was powerful enough to make the right choice myself!"

"So everything was right about it, but it would have been better the other way? That doesn't sound super brainwashed at all."

"Some things are clearly beyond your comprehension."

[passingthrough]

"Why don't you explain with the small words why you're a space nazi then." That's how it ended up getting described to her at one point. Tends to stick in the mind.

An unusual term, but he could hazard a guess to its meaning. She knew where his loyalties lie, but not why.

"I follow the Supreme Leader because it is my duty to return the galaxy to the stability and prosperity it had under the Great Galactic Empire! I enforce order! I am the living legacy of Darth Vader, and will finish what he was unable to accomplish in his lifetime!"

Kylo was a fanatic where his grandfather was concerned, and his loyalty to the First Order was unshakable.

"Sooo...you want to control people just like you're being controlled and you've convinced yourself it's for their best interests?" Is this going to be the time sarcasm gets through to someone and changes their worldview in a burst of snark? No?

"I am not bring controlled!" He shouted. The current exception of the robots and this damn closet door would go unmentioned.

"I have power! And a master who appreciates that power!" Again, the current exception of not actually having that power here will go unmentioned. "The First Order will rise to rule the galaxy!"

"Do you hear what you just said? You said your master—which is already a sketchy word—appreciates you for your power. Is that what you want to be? Someone's weapon?"

Okay, the X-Men may never have taken her in if she hadn't been a mutant with powers like them, but even if the trained her to be their assassin they were also her family. Totally different. Not messed up at all. And they were on the right side of history. Probably.

He just seethed. Of course, she wouldn't understand.

"You should watch your mouth before you find out how good a weapon I can be!"

History is written by the side that wins. Mutant, human, or otherwise.
