When: All throughout the Solrius dragon plot and through the space flight to the next destination.

[So several RPG characters, a dragon, and two messianic figures walk into a planet.

Everything is suffering and tears, there's a lot of dead people, there's no punchline. But, hey, for the survivors, the Blue Fish's clinic is treating wounds and generally being a decent place to rest and recover and pray you don't see a dragon again. And for those who weren't involved, there's enough people bedridden here that there may just be someone you want to visit.]

[ Zaveid frowns, turning to look at the person speaking - and he pauses, because he's sure he recognises her, but he can't say where or why. Instead, he lifts his hand, going to push hair from his face... But there's no hair to push away. Oh, right, the dragon. The fire from the dragon. Mikleo's fire. Damn.

All he can do now is drop back, huffing out a noise that sounds almost like a laugh. ]

Yeah, something like that. Is it a party for the ass-kicked here, then?

[The way he phrases it actually gets a laugh out of her. She's not even bitter about how badly she lost, somehow.]

Something like that. A great party, free food, but to get in you have to be stupid enough to try to fight a dragon.

Hey, it's not the first time I've been thrown around by a dragon. This time was better than the first.

[ Eizen had almost slaughtered him the first time he'd tried. At least Mikleo hadn't. ]

[There's surprise in her voice as she looks him over again.]

You're Zaveid? Mikleo and Sorey mentioned you before.

[ If he could flex right now he definitely would, but all he can do is offer her a charming grin. ]

[She's just staring blankly now.]

... By the way, did the dragon burn your shirt off or something? Do you need a new one?

[THEY NEVER MENTIONED YOU WERE SHIRTLESS]

[ Well, that's just rude. ]

Nah. I don't need a shirt to cover up my luscious body.

[More blank staring.]

... Did Mikleo hit you in the head or something?

[ Ah... Hm. ]

No, just burned away all my beautiful hair...

[She sounds genuinely sympathetic and upset about that. Her hair is important to her, after all, so she can understand someone else being upset for the same reasons.]

Sorry to hear that. At least you can grow it back...?

[ That, at least, makes Zaveid laugh a little. ]

... Do Seraph have hair-growing powers too? Mikleo never mentioned that. I'm kind of jealous.

I don't know about that, but mine always came back pretty fast. You give up on keeping it short.

You're made of mana, right? Or something similar?

Any effect created through application of mana is magic. So there's more to it than just seraphim.

Can you tell me more about them? I heard a bit from Mikleo, but any information is good.

There are three types - martial, hidden and seraphic. Some are magical, some are hand to hand, and some are something else, depending on who's doing them. They just are - you can't really explain them.

What do you mean, can't explain them?

It's just how things are. Why does there need to be an explanation?
