[Given his experience with Loki Hux at least think he's capable of such things but he doesn't show fear. He's heard so many threats against his life- some which warranted concern and some ridiculous- and a great many in the fleet.]

I won't stop you confronting Ren either, if that's what you're getting at. I have no intention of defending or saving him.

You can threaten me all you wish and make whatever claims you feel you need to but I'm not interested in intervening on Ren's behalf.

[Ren could be valuable but more likely than not he was more of a liability. Hux had been willing to undermine Ren before, that wasn't going to change here if he couldn't use Ren to his advantage.]

[When he was younger he had harbored resentment to those remaining Imperial commanders who had surrendered to the Republic and signed the Concordance. Now he could better understand their position, was sure they felt the bile rise up inside of them as they agreed to terms forced upon them in an impossible situation. Here there was little he could do with his back against the wall with few options.

[Loki smiles, slow and heated and amused.]

Oh, i want a great many things, Hux. That is but the least of it.

I don't suppose you're going to share that with me though. [That would be expecting too much. He met Loki's gaze though, raising his eyebrows.]

I thought everyone liked surprises. If truly you wish you know, perhaps I shall tell you another item on the list.

[Chin propped in hand, he continues on with a casual expression. But his voice drops to something lower, dark and promising.]

Why, to watch your back bend and bow like a beast. To hear you gasp and whisper sweetly while your fingers wind the sheets. To see the sweat drip.

[He'd paid very careful attention to how Hux had reacted to that kiss, two systems ago. And men like him are always so tightly wound, it's delightful.]

[Hux stared at Loki for a moment, staying completely still. He remembered that kiss more than he would ever care to admit. Despite where his mind wandered he forced himself to keep composed.]


You're not my type, however. [He finally said, letting out a breath.]

What makes you think that? Or let me guess, you think you would be everyone's type. [Hux attempted to keep his expression as neutral as possible in return though he had the uncomfortable feel that that Loki could still see right through him.]

[Loki is a chameleon. If he wanted to, he could be anyone's type... for a time. But if Hux hasn't figured that out yet, he's not going to say it.

Instead, he laughs softly.] You want power and control. You need a wall to break yourself against, to feel teeth at the back of your neck.

I suppose I can't deny that. But I'm still not interested in you. [He might have been curious but he knew this was a very bad idea.]

[He laughs.] Liar.

But you value the illusion.

Believe what you will, not everyone is attracted to you. [He at least attempted to keep his tone neutral though there was still an edge to it.]

Even if you were my type, you would have to work a lot harder than this to seduce me, Loki.
