[Wrath as most people have not seen her. Hair's the same, jumpsuit is the same, expression is devoid of all the normal friendliness or happiness she displays. Her look into the camera is flat, stern. When she speaks, her tone is clipped, words a lot more precise than normal, like she's making a report.]

This is Wrath, First Officer of the Windrose.

There is a black fox that's been getting aggressive with the domesticated foxes in the fox park. Today she went after Officer Snuggles, and shortly thereafter revealed herself to be a member of the fleet rather than a pet, capable of speech. I have attached a recording of our encounter to this video for anyone who is curious.

Officer Snuggles is the vulpine officer for the Windrose security team and a valued crew asset. I do not tolerate aggression or violence toward any member of my crew and informed the black fox of such. She claimed that he is not a member of our crew and should not be "here"--presumably the fox park.

Officer Snuggles is listed on the crew roster of the Windrose. The fox park is for general use. I respectfully request that whichever captain has this individual on his or her crew adjust the understanding of their misinformed crewman.

Or I will.

I further suggest that those who have the foxes from Arslae as pets or working animals remain with them while they play in the fox park, as it seems there is a member of the fleet who feels justified bullying domesticated animals and doesn't understand the concept of shared or general use space.

Oh, come on, really? Officer Snuggles is a good fox. Is he going to be alright?

He's fine, but I bet he wouldn't mind you fussing over him. He's off duty now.

[There's a pause before a "did I just say that aloud?" expression crosses Castle's face.]

[That startles her into a laugh.]

What can I say? I'm a huge sucker for animals. I love dogs especially, and he's the closest thing we have to a dog.

We had some dogs as working soldiers in the militia, and I always liked them. We just didn't have them in my platoon though. They were really awesome.

I never had one myself. I live in an apartment- a spacious one, mind, but still an aparment- and given how I can be gone for weeks at a time on book tours and such, and how distracting animals can be when I have deadlines to meet, I figured it wouldn't be fair to a dog if I got one.

Oh yeah, you have to give animals lots of attention and take care of them, so it's really smart and kind of you to think about that.

I'm happy I have the chance to make up for it, though. That's one of the good things about being stuck here.

You're right, it's a chance to do all kinds of things we don't normally ever get to do.

Mmmhmm. So that's why I don't mind being stuck here as much as I feel like I should sometimes. I'll wring whatever enjoyment I can get out of it.

Cause you do have somewhere nice you're from. But I'm glad you have a positive attitude! That's important.

I must say, it's gotten me pretty far in life.

That's a good point. Being positive helps with a lot of things! A can-do attitude is necessary for overcoming problem.

Helps a lot in my line of work, too. Both as a writer and as a police consultant.

Oh yeah, I bet you have to come up with all kinds of novel solutions.
