[There's a cranky nineteen-year-old staring down through the feed. The feed is upside down. Someone should probably tell him.]

[It's not a question, it's a demand.]

[He leans in, blue eyes taking over the feed.] Who are you supposed to be? Some other division? [It's not the first time he's been locked up in a lab. If this is supposed to terrify him, it's not working.] You're testing me, then.

Hope you don't have anything important in here. There won't be anything left when I'm done.

I met a version of you in prison. [Simple enough, right?] Kanda Yu, Japanese, exorcist, complicated relationship with Allen, friend of Lenalee and Alma, not unskilled with a sword, and generally cheerful. [Slight smile.] We sparred sometimes.

(OOC: If you want me to roll any of that back just let me know. Her other game had a ton of DGM people for awhile.)

I'm not in prison. [He's above the law, he's part of God's law. Or some shit. That was always what he was told when police inevitably got involved in the bullshit happening in their city. That's a pretty apt description of him, though, and his eyebrows move up slightly--

[She did say four names, and she can't know when he's from and what might be going on, but if she had go guess she'd say Alma is the hang up here. Instead of being sarcastic or dismissive as some of her previous comments might have indicated she looks at him thoughtfully before nodding.]

[A pause before she speaks again. More seriously.] Is this your first time abducted from your world? [It's so common here it feels like it makes sense to ask. It also creates a primer for how thrown someone might be by the fleet.]

[He's practically frothing. How the hell-- he doesn't remember any of this. He doesn't remember this woman, he doesn't remember sparring, he doesn't... but at least she's backing off. He doesn't have to threaten to slice her to pieces; she already knows he's capable.

God, Alma. He feels something hollow inside his chest and tries to ignore it. There are more important things right now.]

Yeah. This prison-- was it somewhere like this?

[She does it out of respect rather than fear. Some for Kanda. Some for Allen and some for Leto. Not that she wants to be making enemies of good people. She was obviously pushing, but she honestly didn't know the reaction he'd have. She doesn't remember everything with perfect clarity and it could be she never heard all the details.]

An underwater city protected by a dome instead of a fleet of spaceships, but it was pretty similar otherwise. Mysterious, powerful beings grabbing people from different times, places, and dimensions to do whatever they wanted with us.

[Ugh. He's still so unhappy. It's not entirely directed at Kitty, though, which is an improvement. He just got here; it'd be unfortunate if he was already threatening to jam Mugen down someone's throat.]

So why can't we just turn around and sail home?

Because if we stray too far we get pulled back. Plus, we have no idea where we are and since we're displaced by time and dimension, not just space getting back is tricky.

... Haaaah. Of course it's not that easy.

Do the Atroma ever show themselves?

Never is.

Once since I've been here. I heard it was more frequent before my arrival which was eight months ago. [That long? It actually surprises her a little.]

[Eight months. Jeez.]

What were they like? Did you fight them?

Never got in proximity of them. It was just over the network. My powers don't do anything over long distances.

A lot of Exorcists are taken from their families as children. [Lenalee was one of them. He remembers her nightmares about it.] People will do anything to win a war.

[Softer.] I didn't realize it was like that. Allen never talked about that part. [But Allen had no one to be taken from, did he? Tyki has implied things, but she never gave him any credit when it came to putting down exorcists.]

There are a lot of things about the Order people don't know.

[Kanda is the same way as Allen-- he won't talk about them.]
