[ Focus on Steph's face as she starts to wake up. She wrinkles her nose, groans softly as she rolls onto her side... and then her eyes snap open. ]

What the...?

[ The camera pulls out as she sits up, looking down at herself. She's still in her costume, hood and cowl pulled back, not in a hospital gown, no tubes or needles attached to her anywhere. The costume's even in one piece. And-- ]

Nothing hurts. [ It's muttered, to herself - she's still a little too disoriented to realize she's being filmed. ] Why does nothing...

[ She presses a hand experimentally against her left shoulder. No pain, no blood or bullet wound... A slight lump under the fabric of her costume that might be a scar, but it seems long healed. What. The hell.

Steph rolls out of the cot, getting to her feet slowly like she's afraid she'll fall over. She's fine, though. Totally fine. At least, until she finally notices the big viewing windows looking out on the void. She exhales slowly, eyes wide, as she approaches the window. ]

Okay. So either this is random neurons firing while my brain shuts down, or... we're not in Gotham anymore.

Wow... sorry. Were you getting out of the fire before you arrived? [the moment she was taken from her world, it was kinda in turmoil too. So she feels deep sympathy for anyone who has something stressful waiting for them back home]

Uhhh... last I remember, I was in the hospital. Probably the safest place in the city but that's not saying a lot.

For what it's worth, it seems like time travel is involved in bringing us here. So if we figure out a way to bust out of here, maybe we can use that same technology to choose when we go back. Maybe you can stop it?

[mysunnydisposition]

[ She goes quiet for a moment. She hadn't thought about that, even with Tim coming from her future. If she could go back and stop everything... stop herself... ]

Maybe. I can hope, anyway.

You actually think we can get out of here? Most of the people I've talked to seem... pretty pessimistic about it.

I think so. [a beat] Well, I don't think it'll be any time soon but what's the alternative?

[staying here forever? she couldn't accept that as an answer. she's a weird kind of optimist in that way]

[mysunnydisposition]

[ Steph smiles a little. ]

Settling down to raise little space babies, maybe? ...yeah, I'd rather try to get home too.

They'd probably get some weird space disease out here. [Steph's smile is a bit infectious] I'll take Earth over space any day.

[mysunnydisposition]

Or they'd grow up to be badass space pirates. ...which might not be so bad, but still. I'd rather just go back to Earth.

Maybe it's like a regular reality show? Like, if we get voted off or win enough points or something, we get to go home? Do they have competitions here?

Not that anyone has told me. Apparently people do disappear, but no one knows where they go. And considering some people have been brought back onto the ships after disappearing, it's hard to imagine that we go home that way.

[mysunnydisposition]

So what, they're just... watching us? Not doing much of anything? That's not a very interesting reality show.

Trust me, the people here are colorful characters here. Apparently we get taken to different weird planets, and drama probably brews on its own when everyone is stuck living together.

[mysunnydisposition]

I guess you're right. I was hoping for something a little more exciting than fights over who used up all the hot water... but I guess exploring new planets could be cool.

I don't know. If you give someone absolute power over a bunch of prisoners, and then ask them to make it interesting? It doesn't turn out well.

[mysunnydisposition]

Isn't that theoretically already what's happening? I mean... someone's in charge of this, right? Even if they're not talking to us, they have to be there...

[transferedfate]

That's true. [it makes her stomach do a little flip, and it's a good reminder... even if things have been peaceful so far, she can't expect it to stay that way. In fact, it would be stupid to do so]

Point taken. Maybe they're cooking up a long game to make it 'interesting'.
