[ Matt hates confetti, there's nothing worse for upsetting his senses than over stimulation. So he stands, waiting for the 'celebration' to pass. He'd only been in the last room (ship?) long enough to be moved along to the next, so now here he was, trying to get his bearing through a snowstorm of flying paper.

Once he does, at least a bit, he can focus on the refreshments. It's clearly party food, which seems safe enough, so he assembles his stick and moves forward. ]

I, uh, hello?

[ He clears his throat. ]

My name's Matt Murdock, and I think you all are expecting me.

[ Later, Matt sits in front of the monitor, dark red glasses covering his eyes. He's calm, but it's clear that he's holding back stronger emotions. ]

If anyone seeing this knows me, I need to know you're here. Suffice to say, I have a few questions.

Well, that's the most boring option. And the least likely, considering they think it's necessary to do brain surgery on everyone and keep us under surveillance all the time.

[Oh, wait. Belatedly, he adds,] Well, not all the time. Someone blacked us out for a while. Sucks we took those boxes out.

[ Matt shakes his head, obviously not understanding the reference. ]

I guess they weren't exactly boxes...

[He cocks his head, birdlike, as he thinks it over.]

But someone scrambled the communication arrays on all of the ships, so Atroma couldn't get through. Shit was pretty nice, to be honest, even if we only figured it out in retrospect.

How do they usual communicate? Do they give orders?

[feathery]

If you wanna count abduction and their sleazy thirst for quality entertainment an order. Usually they just pester us through the network, though. Main reason they give us communicators at all, probably, since reading people's chat logs has to be boring.

[Never mind that's literally how Davesprite's canon is written.]

So they leave us to our own devices generally.

[feathery]

[He shrugs again, belatedly remembers the cane, and adds,] Sure. How long is this cross-examination gonna last? I got a couple questions of my own.

[avocadoatlaw]

[ Matt nods. ]

Go ahead.

[feathery]

Do you have any problems with birds. Or—wolves, I guess. Foxes? We have cats, too. And the puppyfied fusion of a dog and a bear.

A polar bear dog, actually. That one's not my fault.

No? I mean I don't think so. You'd have to ask Korra if you want more deets on that sitch.

[ A beat. ]

I'm supposed to have a room, right? I should find it, it's been a long day.

[feathery]

Sure. Rooms are off this way—uh, to your left. Do you need help or anything? The only blind person I met before could smell her way around, so.

[Davesprite is pretty sure Terezi only had a cane to shank people with it.]

[avocadoatlaw]

[ Huh. Maybe he should just be honest about what he can do after all.

He'll consider it. ]

Thanks. I think I'll be fine.

[feathery]

[And Davesprite pockets his hands before he turns to head towards the kitchen. His teenage priorities are in order.]
