[ Matt hates confetti, there's nothing worse for upsetting his senses than over stimulation. So he stands, waiting for the 'celebration' to pass. He'd only been in the last room (ship?) long enough to be moved along to the next, so now here he was, trying to get his bearing through a snowstorm of flying paper.

Once he does, at least a bit, he can focus on the refreshments. It's clearly party food, which seems safe enough, so he assembles his stick and moves forward. ]

I, uh, hello?

[ He clears his throat. ]

My name's Matt Murdock, and I think you all are expecting me.

[ Later, Matt sits in front of the monitor, dark red glasses covering his eyes. He's calm, but it's clear that he's holding back stronger emotions. ]

If anyone seeing this knows me, I need to know you're here. Suffice to say, I have a few questions.

[there's some amusement in her voice, but that certainly answers it]

I suppose the name "Jasper" does not mean anything to you?

Not on it's own. Should it?

[she makes an amused noise]

No, not really.

Like I said, this is my second time. The first go around, I met you there. "Jasper" was your nickname.

[ Shakes his head. ]

Sorry to disappoint, but that's definitely wasn't me.

I had noticed. But I am not disappointed; it simply is what it is.

But it was me, this Jasper person. Or a version of me?

Perhaps saying a version of you is better?

You could, but I'm still coming to terms with different versions at all. I'm not sure I'm ready to play favorites.

Then don't. It is not as though it is necessary.

Besides, I do not know you. And it would be unfair of me to expect you to be the same as Jasper.

[ Chuckles. ]

What ship have you been assigned to? Do you know?

Uh... the Wonderduck? That sounds wrong though, it might have been Wonderluck.

[she can't help but snicker]

No, you're right. It is duck, not luck.

Pleas at least tell me all the ship names are ridiculous.

Not all, but some. My ship is called the Golden, which seems like a rather normal name.

Indeed. I do not know all of the names, though - just a handful that I have been invited to.

How does that work, exactly? Ship to ship transit?

There are shuttles. Little ships that can be taken from ship to ship, or down to the planets when we are stopped.

. . . though now I wonder how they expect you to use them. There may be an - auto-pilot? Is that the term?

[ He nods. ]

So far the consoles have been pretty accommodating, so I'm hoping that's an option.
