[ Matt hates confetti, there's nothing worse for upsetting his senses than over stimulation. So he stands, waiting for the 'celebration' to pass. He'd only been in the last room (ship?) long enough to be moved along to the next, so now here he was, trying to get his bearing through a snowstorm of flying paper.

Once he does, at least a bit, he can focus on the refreshments. It's clearly party food, which seems safe enough, so he assembles his stick and moves forward. ]

I, uh, hello?

[ He clears his throat. ]

My name's Matt Murdock, and I think you all are expecting me.

[ Later, Matt sits in front of the monitor, dark red glasses covering his eyes. He's calm, but it's clear that he's holding back stronger emotions. ]

If anyone seeing this knows me, I need to know you're here. Suffice to say, I have a few questions.

I like to think so, but not everyone thinks that way.

[ Matt just nods, he can't really deny that. ]

And now we're in space.

You can't blame me for that one.

[Said jokingly.]

Hey, I don't blame you for any of it.

[ He might blame the Hulk a little, but that was a different conversation. ]

Especially not if you're delivering me to a bar.

That wouldn't be the best way to keep your driver services, it's true.

[Said lightly, not dwelling on the subject of blame for the time being.]

[ Matt settles into the shuttle. ]

Are you implying this might not be a one time only deal?

[outstandingbalance]

Oh, I'd call that an optimistic way to read that.

[avocadoatlaw]

I'm an optimistic guy.

[ He tries to gauge the trip as they move along in the shuttle, but there's nothing to sense in space and the whole thing is incredibly unsettling. He does his best to keep it off his face. ]

Does everyone have access to these shuttles at all times? Or is there an augment for that?

There is a pilot augment, but you don't need to have it to fly one of them. I have a communications augment, myself.

[A pause before she asks:]

You know what you got?

Personnel. Which I'm pretty sure just gets me an office.

There are worse things. A little extra space, if nothing else.

And it's natural for a lawyer to have an office.

And yet completely crazy when it's in space.

In space, most things seem crazy.

Probably so. I'll cope better once we have a drink.

It's good for what ails.

Not if only we had takeout.

We are sadly low on decent takeout Thai food.

So I've heard. And I think I might be lucky that the chef on the Wonderduck appears to have seen a kitchen before.

Hardly matters who the chef is, considering the food the give us. Though we pick up a fair amount of fresh produce when we make planets.
