Ahh, [There is some adjusting of the camera before Remy gets it right, balancing it in just a way so he could place it down away from him and still leave it filming. It wasn’t a happy face that appeared on the feed this time around as he took a seat on a bed that wasn’t his own and in a setting that wasn’t his room.] Guess since no one has yet, up to me to break the bad news. Seems Rogue has left.

She, ah, [Oh, this was tough. He had gone around to annoy his best friend, having not had a chance to catch up of late, and had brought his three little annoyances in the form of the kittens along with him to meet her, only to find her room mostly empty of its items and no signs of her.] Well, seems she’s left a few things for people here. Kitty, Kurt, Clay, Winter, Loki. [He moves to pick the camera up again, turning it around onto the selection on the bed, including several books, a makeup set, her mpc player, a necklace. Some items have a note on them, others don’t.] I’ve kinda gathered them up ‘nd left them on her bed for ya’ll to pick up when ya able to.

[The camera turns back to him again as he throws on a smile, but it is rather forced, the angle of the camera showing Rogue's guitar she had gotten from the gifting tree resting over his legs.] Hopefully she’s gone back home ‘nd... well, not got caught up in ‘ny of this again. And, hey, she’s got a good home to go back to, I know, ‘ve seen her future. She does a lot of good work, really does her team proud, 'nd helps a lot of people out. Hell, saves the whole world. Kinda hard to beat that for a welcome home party.

He waited for Remy to set the guitar aside before stepping in close,
reaching up and resting a hand on his shoulder. It was an invitation and an
escape at the same time - the implicit offer of as much comfort as the
other wanted, or the choice to draw away and deal with it another way.

Make yourself comfortable. I picked out something smooth tonight. I hope that's okay?

[Don't worry Kirk, Remy wouldn't hold it against him. Dieu knows the number of times Remy has slipped over his own poor choice of wording in sensitive times.

His arm looped around Kirk's waist as he moved in, throwing on a smile and falling back on humor. It was such an easy way to deal with things, to forget an issue, even if just for a moment, with a joke.] But cher, ya always ok, when ya bein' smooth or not.

_{[ Well, if the other could smile it meant that it hurt, but it wasn't entirely devastating. They shared that. It was only really bad when they couldn't even crack a smile. He leaned into Remy some, moving his arms to wrap around his shoulders. ]}

Excuse you, Mr. Le Beau, I am always smooth.

_{[ He smirked at him for a second before pulling away to go to the bottle on the small table, opening it up and pouring them each a glass. ]}

This might be smoother though.

In that case, I will take ya up on both of those. [Devastating? Maybe not that bad, but it was still bad, maybe even to a degree that hadn't sunk in yet. Not until he went about his everyday life and going to give Rogue a call, only to find her not there. It wasn't the first time Remy had lost people in his life, those that were close to him, and while she was at least still alive, he knew that someone leaving your life always left an ache behind that never really healed.

Taking a glass when offered, Remy raised it a little in a silent toast before taking a sip.]

_{[ Kirk raised his own and sipped too, though he was not nearly so
attached to Rogue. Hadn't even met her actually. But she was important to
Remy, and that was what mattered, so he drank. He stepped back into the
other, leaning up and pressing his lips to the cajun's, cupping the back of
his head. ]}

What do you need, Remy?

[The drink was nice, the kiss was nicer, but neither really broke through the layer of numbness that had settled on him. It was kind of a coping mechanism, not letting it strike too close to heart and let it really sink in. Letting out a sigh, Remy gave a shrug and shake of his head before draining his glass.] I donno, really don't. [It was very tempting to get drunk, although he wasn't sure how much help it would be, wasn't sure if it would help distract him or only make him want to think more about her.] Just... see how things go, I guess?

_{[ He understood. You built that wall around you, that space to protect
you. If you let anyone pierce it the whole thing would come crumbling down
and you with it, and you just couldn't afford that, couldn't survive it. So
he didn't press, where others might. This kind of pain wasn't something
that could be pressured or brought down by force. It just wasn't. ]}

Right - so, distraction or a shoulder?

Well, I know how good ya be at distraction. [It came out as a joke, even had a smile to it, but it didn't last long, slipping away before Remy moved to pour himself another drink.] Think will take ya up on that.

_{[ That bad, was it? He knew before that the other was hurting, of
course he was, but he was only beginning to understand how deep the hurt
ran. They dealt with that sort of thing similarly, it seemed. So he simply
moved up behind Remy, kissing the back of his neck and running his fingers
up beneath his shirt. ]}

Come on. I'll start with a massage so good you won't be able to think for the rest of the night.

[Restraining himself from downing the second drink, Remy smiled softly to himself. How could he argue against something like that? Not just for whatever connection he and Kirk had, or the physical offer, but for the fact he was trying so hard to help Remy out. He could had just left him to mope over this all, but Jim was really trying to help, and in the way Remy had asked him to.

Taking a sip from his glass, he made himself put it back down before sending a warm glance over his shoulder at the other man.] Goin' to hold ya to that, ya know.

_{[ Kirk wouldn't have felt right leaving Remy alone at a time like
this, and he was deeply concerned for him. Losing someone was hard, he
knew, and while alone time was necessary to process the emotions, in the
very beginning he thought it was better to have the distractions, to let it
all settle in slowly rather than as an avalanche.}

And everyone dealt with loss in their own ways. Remy's, it seemed, like his own was to drown in the physical. And that he could provide. He smiled softly and came around, leaning up to kiss Remy as he gently pushed him back towards the bed. ]
