Heh, that works too.

I'm not expecting trouble with any of them, but I know better than to let my guard down.

Who's got you most worried?

[beathach]

You mean, who's the bigger magnet? [he faintly shakes his head] I'm worried about them all a bit equally.

[a considering pause. He isn't sure he wants to ask, because he rarely does, but - he wants to know, too] Has a mutant named Apocalypse shown up in your world?

[ladybro]

...Shit. [ it might be all the confirmation hank needs. ] Yeah. I heard of the guy. Heard nothing good.

[beathach]

There's nothing good to hear. [of course he's appeared in her world, too. Of course] That's what we dealt with when we - went home? Got ten years worth of memories? However you want to look at it.

[ladybro]

-- It wasn't, like, ten years of him. Was it?

[beathach]

[the thought of ten years of Apocalypse is frankly terrifying, and Hank does not bother to hide his expression]

No - no, thank god no. It was only a couple of days.

[ladybro]

...What brought him down?

[beathach]

It was a combined effort. Two of his horsemen turned on him, and with everyone together - [he makes a gesture]

The team prevailed. [ easily, she finishes the sentence. ] I'm familiar with that kinda ending.

[beathach]

Yeah. [he quirks a little grin] We've always thrown around the "X-Men" name, but that's probably the real start of it. The one that'll stick, this time.

[ladybro]

You know? I'm sure it will. The name's a big deal, in the future.

[beathach]

After all the work we put in building the danger room and rebuilding the jet, it better stick.

[ladybro]

The danger room! I've only heard about the danger room. Wow.

[beathach]

[he blinks in surprise before he grins]

I hope it was all good things. Or - that it was useful, at least.

[ladybro]

Great things. [ she assures him. ] A lot of work must have gone into it.

[beathach]

[that makes him smile. He's glad for that. Something to remember to tell Charles the next time they discuss things along those lines]

It took us a little under two months to build it, yeah. I was still adding to it here and there when we came back here.

[ladybro]

Oh? What were you adding?

[beathach]

[oh boy, here we go]

We were working out limits and weaknesses the last time we all got together, so I was going to add in a few more obstacles that specifically targeted those with varying difficulty. I've got a few empty "rooms" hidden behind the panels, too, and I can't leave them like that for long. It's wasted space until I find a purpose for them.

[ladybro]

[ -- varying difficulty. she supposes it's tough to design a course for a whole team of mutants. just as it would be hard enough to design one for the young avengers, in the end. at least one that billy couldn't just turn to marshmallow if he wanted. ]

I don't know. Maybe it's good to leave some room to grow. You guys have decades of X-Men you'll still have to accommodate. You know, thinking optimistically.

[beathach]

[he blinks, before he looks a bit sheepish and lifts a hand to rub the back of his neck]

There's room to grow no matter what, at least. I mean - as more new technology comes out, I can add it in. I guess none of us really expect - decades of X-Men. There's really only a handful of us right now.

There's gonna be more. Hand to God.
